The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Monday that it launched the CBP Home app with a function that allows illegal immigrants to self-deport.
According to the New York Post, the Biden administration enabled over 1 million migrants to enter the country using the prior ‘CBP One app.’
The Trump administration ended the use of the problematic app on day one.

“Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is launching the CBP Home app with a self-deportation reporting feature for aliens illegally in the country. Aliens should use the CBP Home mobile phone application to submit their intent to depart as indicated below,” DHS stated.

Per DHS:
Self-deportation is the safest option for illegal aliens, while preserving law enforcement resources. Not only is it safer, but it also saves U.S. taxpayer dollars and valuable Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) resources to focus on dangerous criminal aliens.
This self-deportation functionality is part of a larger $200 million domestic and international ad campaign encouraging illegal aliens to “Stay Out and Leave Now.”
All CBP One applications will automatically update to the CBP Home app. The new app is also available free across mobile application stores.
“The Biden Administration exploited the CBP One app to allow more than 1 million aliens to illegally enter the United States. With the launching of the CBP Home app, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said.
“The CBP Home app gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” she added.

Now the app will feature a “Submit Intent To Depart” button for illegal migrants, notifying the feds of their intent to leave the country.
The new program comes as the Trump administration continues to focus on ramping up ICE arrests and deportations, while shutting down the border to illegal crossings.
Trump terminated the CBP One entry program, which allowed thousands of migrants to fly directly into the US or walk across the border at inspection points, on his first day back in office.
ICE also began taking to the streets in deportation raids across the US, prioritizing the arrests of migrants with criminal histories and deportation orders.
All the while, the Trump administration closed access to the asylum system for migrants crossing illegally, ending the previous administration’s use of “catch and release.”
As a result, border agents saw the lowest levels of illegal crossings in recorded history last month, when roughly 8,000 migrants were caught entering illegally.
Some migrants have seen the writing on the wall, choosing to immediately turn back south, with authorities in Honduras reporting the movements.
