European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will join Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday in Washington D.C.
It’s unclear what role they will play in Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy or if they will meet with him separately.
The news follows Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“At the request of President Zelenskyy, I will join the meeting with President Trump and other European leaders in the White House tomorrow,” von der Leyen said.
This afternoon, I will welcome @ZelenskyyUa in Brussels.
Together, we will participate in the Coalition of Willing VTC.

The Hill has more:
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s office also announced he will be traveling to Washington Monday for “political talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European heads of state and government,” according to a translated statement from his office.
The statement said the purpose of the trip is the “exchange of information” with Trump after his meeting with Putin and said Merz plans to discuss peace efforts and “underscore Germany’s interest in a swift peace agreement in Ukraine.”
“The talks will address, among other things, security guarantees, territorial issues, and continued support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression. This includes maintaining the pressure of sanctions,” the translated statement said.
President Trump has said he wants to bypass securing a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine and negotiate a permanent peace agreement.

BBC shared additional details:
European leaders have reacted with caution to the outcome of the Trump-Putin meeting, seeking not to criticise the change of direction despite their long-held support for a ceasefire.
Putin reportedly presented Trump with a peace offer that would require Ukraine withdrawing from the Donetsk region of the Donbas, in return for Russia freezing the front lines in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.
Russia claims the Donbas as Russian territory, controlling most of Luhansk and about 70% of Donetsk. It also illegally annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014, eight years before launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The BBC’s US partner CBS has reported, citing diplomatic sources, that European officials were concerned Trump may try to press Zelensky into agreeing to the possible terms discussed in Alaska when they meet on Monday.
Ukraine’s president has previously ruled out ceding control of the Donbas – composed of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions – saying it could be used as a springboard for future Russian attacks.
