A hazmat situation on Tuesday at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, hospitalized several employees.

“Authorities are responding to a hazmat incident at Disneyland Park after an unknown odor was detected backstage near the Tomorrowland attraction Star Tours The Adventures Continue. At least five cast members have been hospitalized, and emergency crews are currently investigating the source of the odor,” Rawsalerts wrote.

According to Disneyland officials, building materials being used by a contractor caused a reaction in a backstage area. Several cast members were treated on site by paramedics and released.

Seven cast members who experienced dizziness and shortness of breath were taken to local hospitals. Disneyland officials said, out of an abundance of caution, adjacent onstage areas were cleared of guests but are expected to reopen soon.

No guests have reported symptoms or been affected so far, according to police.

The New York Post shared further:

In order to prevent guests from getting close to the area of the odor, cast members formed a wall, blocking guest entry to The Star Trader shop. Guest were also evacuated off of nearby rides, according to WDW News Today.

Space Mountain was among the rides closed, as were the Space Mountain Bathrooms, in addition to the top of Star Wars Launch Bay, according to the report.
