Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is continuing his push for the release of the complete Jeffrey Epstein files.

“If the executive branch won’t release phase 2 of the Epstein files, we will. Americans deserve transparency and the victims deserve justice,” Massie said.

Massie held up a binder named “The Epstein Files: Phase 2.”

The binder also lists his proposed resolution, which would force a vote in the House of Representatives on releasing the complete files.

“Release phase 2 of the Epstein files,” Massie said in another post.

Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Ro Khanna, D-Calif., have banded together on bipartisan legislation, H.R., 4405, to require Attorney General Pam Bondi to release “all documents and records in possession of the Department of Justice” relating to Epstein — with Massie threatening to force consideration of the measure with a discharge petition if Republican leaders don’t schedule a floor vote on the resolution.

But the bill only has eight other co-sponsors, a meager amount that falls far short of the support necessary to convince Republican leaders to schedule a vote on it.

Massie has threatened to launch a discharge petition if Republican leaders don’t acquiesce, which could eventually compel Republican leaders to consider the Epstein matter contrary to their preference.

“Americans were promised justice. Our binding bipartisan legislation to release the complete Epstein files now has 20 sponsors. Soon we can begin collecting signatures required to force a public vote in the U.S. House,” Massie wrote Tuesday morning.

“Is your member on this list?” he asked.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said there will not be a House vote on releasing the Epstein files before the August recess.

“My belief is we need the administration to have the space to do what it is doing,” Johnson told reporters.

“If further congressional action is necessary or appropriate, then we’ll look at that. But I don’t think we’re at that point right now because we agree with the president,” he added.

Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday said he does not plan to allow votes on any measures related to the Jeffrey Epstein case in the House’s final week in Washington before a weekslong recess, despite intense pressure from some of his own GOP members to go on the record on the issue.

Some of President Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters in Congress have been pressing party leaders to allow for a vote to show they support transparency around the Epstein saga — an issue that continues to animate the MAGA base even as Trump has repeatedly sought to blame Democrats for fanning the flames.

The House forcing the Trump administration to turn over materials against its will would represent a remarkable rebuke of the president by his base. But the push has shown little forward momentum among the party’s leadership on Capitol Hill.

Johnson told CNN on Monday the full House would not vote on a pending measure from members of his own party – a non-binding resolution calling for the release of additional Epstein files – before the chamber’s August recess, which is slated to begin at week’s end.
