President Trump reportedly intends to sign an executive order to criminalize specific actions related to burning the American flag.
“President Trump is planning on signing an executive order Thursday CRACKING DOWN on those who burn the American flag,” journalist Nick Sortor said.
“Trump is ordering the DOJ to attempt to bring charges of disorderly conduct, public nuisance, environmental violations, and more to those who burn old glory in the streets, per NewsNation,” he added.

NewsNation provided further info:
The order would direct Attorney General Pam Bondi to review cases where someone burned an American flag and determine whether charges can be brought under existing laws such as public nuisance, disorderly conduct or potential environmental violations, two administration officials told NewsNation.
This would not criminalize the actual burning of the American flag, one administration official told NewsNation.
If someone is injured, for instance, as a result of a flag burning, then charges could be brought, one of the sources explained.
The objective would be to get around legal hurdles because the burning of an American flag is not illegal. On June 21, 1989, a divided U.S. Supreme Court upheld the rights of protesters to burn the flag in a landmark First Amendment decision ruling the action was protected speech.
Trump previously said “people that burn the American flag should go to jail for one year.”

The comments come amid a series of protests against immigration raids in major cities like Dallas and Los Angeles.
In Los Angeles, the city is preparing for its fifth day of anti-ICE demonstrations, which have seen cars burned down, smoke bombs deployed and pepper bullets fired.
Trump ordered the deployment of 4,100 National Guard troops and 700 Marines, which he says is to protect federal officials and property.
The move drew objections from California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who filed an emergency motion in federal court seeking to block the use of federal troops to assist in immigration raids. Newsom said the request was a response to a change in orders that had been issued for the Guard.
In Dallas, one person was arrested after hundreds of demonstrators gathered near the Margaret Hunt Bridge on Monday night.
