In a whirlwind reversal, reports are coming in that Zelensky’s decision to finally ‘bend the knee’ to President Trump and his mineral deal — the only viable path forward for Ukraine — worked.
The “Art of the Deal” isn’t just a good book title; it also makes for high drama on the international diplomatic scene!
And we are watching a MASTER DEALMAKER at work, in President Trump.
So here’s the news.
Firstly, the deal has not yet been signed, and even the White House sources are pointing out that the situation could change.
ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN — as well all know too well.
But word is that President Trump is going to allow Zelensky to sign the so-called ‘minerals for security’ agreement, and he’s planning on announcing it tonight when he addresses a full session of Congress.
#BREAKING: President Trump and Zelensky plan to sign the Ukrainian mineral deal TODAY, and Trump will announce it during his Congressional address tonight, per Reuters

Zelensky’s willingness to apologize for his behavior in the Oval Office, and admit that he has no true path forward without American might, apparently has President Trump willing to let Zelensky have another shot at signing on the dotted line.
Which would in essence recompense the United States for all the billions we have already supplied to Ukraine, and cover what we’re still likely to send, until the eventual peace plan is put into effect.
Four sources, allegedly close to President Trump, have corroborated the report that he intends on announcing the deal with Zelensky during his speech before Congress, according to Reuters news agency:
U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration and Ukraine plan to sign a minerals deal that fell through after a disastrous Oval Office meeting Friday in which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was dismissed from the building, four people familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.
President Donald Trump has told his advisers that he wants to announce the agreement in his address to Congress on Tuesday evening, three of the sources said, cautioning that the deal had yet to be signed and the situation could change.
U.S. officials have in recent days spoken to officials in Kyiv about signing the minerals deal despite Friday’s blow-up, and urged Zelenskiy’s advisers to convince the Ukrainian president to apologize openly to Trump, according to one of the people familiar with the matter.
On Tuesday, Zelenskiy posted on X that Ukraine was ready to sign the deal and called the Oval Office meeting “regrettable.”
It was unclear if the deal has changed. The deal that was to be signed last week included no explicit security guarantees for Ukraine but gave the U.S. access to revenues from Ukraine’s natural resources. It also envisaged the Ukrainian government contributing 50% of future monetization of any state-owned natural resources to a U.S.-Ukraine managed reconstruction investment fund.
On Monday, Trump signaled that his administration remained open to signing the deal, telling reporters in a gaggle that Ukraine “should be more appreciative.”
“This country has stuck with them through thick and thin,” Trump said. “We’ve given them much more than Europe, and Europe should have given more than us.”
It was only Friday — 5 days ago! — that Zelensky brought down the thunder in the Oval Office.
There was a show of strength at first, from Zelensky and European leaders, in an attempt to alienate President Trump. (Do these people realize he’s not like them?)
But, as one astute X account points out, the timeline of the dustup until the ‘redo’ we’re seeing shape up before us is a thing of beauty.
President Trump applied the appropriate pressure, played the cards he had to their optimum potential, and here we are… with Zelensky basically bending the knee.
And President Trump getting the deal he wanted all along.
Observe the timeline:
-Friday: Zelensky throws a fit and refuses to sign minerals deal at White House.
-Saturday/Sunday: Zelensky runs off to London to beg for money from Europe, they give him a minuscule amount of funds and tell him to go beg Trump for forgiveness.

Here’s the full text from that post, laying out the timeline of President Trump’s “art of the deal” masterclass:
Observe the timeline:
-Friday: Zelensky throws a fit and refuses to sign minerals deal at White House.
-Saturday/Sunday: Zelensky runs off to London to beg for money from Europe, they give him a minuscule amount of funds and tell him to go beg Trump for forgiveness.
-Monday: Trump says that if Zelensky does not come to the table ready for peace, then he will “not be around very long”. Hours later, Trump cuts off all weapons sales, aid, funding, stockpiles, etc., until Zelensky is committed to a ceasefire and peace deal.
-Today: Zelensky is ready to commit to a peace deal, first thing this morning.
You just witnessed the Art of the Deal play out in real time.
Trump is holding all the cards, and forced Zelensky to submit. Zelensky was trying to play games and keep this war going, so Trump dropped the hammer on him. Trump essentially told Zelensky ‘you either work with me on stopping this war, or we will let Putin kill you’.
You are watching a master at work.
Here was President Trump’s post on his Truth Social JUST YESTERDAY, calling Zelensky out.
From the wording, it seems to me that he wanted Zelensky to realize the window for him to come to terms with reality wouldn’t be staying open forever.
Here’s the full text of his post in case that’s hard to read:
This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer! It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?
And he attached this Associated Press story to the post:
And then? With the hook baited, the line set, and nothing but time and reality on his side…
The master deal maker waited — what… one more day, was it?
And then European media was all abuzz with Zelensky’s change of tone.
Including Zelensky’s own post on his X account, making his change of attitude clear:
I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace.
None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under…

Here is the entirety of Zelensky’s ‘make-up’ post:
I would like to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace.
None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.
We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same. Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal.
We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this.
Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive.
Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format. We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively.
And personally, I have a feeling that JD Vance’s clear logic yesterday surely contributed to Zelensky’s eventual turnaround.
It’s hard to argue with reality. People do it; but it’s hard.
And the Vice President has a way of articulating all aspects relating to an issue in a way that is VERY HARD TO ARGUE AGAINST.
Here was JD Vance’s contribution to Zelensky’s turnaround, just yesterday on Fox News:
Wow. The minerals deal with Ukraine was a done deal before Zelensky came to the White House. Then he acted like an ungrateful toddler and the whole thing blew up.
Who advised him to push back against Trump and Vance at the last minute? pic.twitter.com/wXSMvLB682

And not only did Zelensky come around to President Trump’s way of thinking on the finer points of the conflict.
But he actually said he was ready to work under President Trump’s ‘strong leadership’, according to the BBC:
Volodymyr Zelensky said he was ready to work under Donald Trump’s “strong leadership” to achieve a lasting peace days after their explosive Oval Office meeting.
Zelensky said “it was time to make things right”, after Trump had accused him of not being ready to come to the negotiating table.
He also reiterated that Ukraine was ready to sign a minerals deal with the US, after the failure to do so at the Washington meeting, and outlined a proposal for how the war might stop.
Zelensky said Friday’s meeting “did not go the way it was supposed to be”, adding: “It is regrettable that it happened this way,” he wrote. “It is time to make things right. We would like future co-operation and communication to be constructive.”
Ukraine woke to the news on Tuesday that the US was “pausing and reviewing” its military aid to the country after a breakdown in diplomacy last week.
In his post, Zelensky offered an overt declaration of gratitude to the US.
“We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence,” he wrote.
“And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this,” he added, referring to the US anti-tank missile system sold to Ukraine during Trump’s first administration.
While this sounds like a done deal, I want to reiterate that even the four “anonymous sources” quoted by Reuters have cautioned that the deal is not yet signed.
Things truly could change.
But, at the moment, it sounds like we should be watching for a big announcement tonight by President Trump, and a pivotal step in the direction of his overall plan to end the fighting in Ukraine.
Not to mention… getting some of America’s money back!
I wonder exactly how the democrats will spin their ongoing Russia collusion hoax… now that President Trump is allegedly signing a deal with Zelensky?
Which in effect makes the U.S. financial partners with Ukraine for these billions in minerals?
Liberal heads will be exploding — of that, I’m sure.
