In a candid moment at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service today, President Trump got chuckles from the crowd when he pointed out where he disagreed with Charlie.
Before President Trump went on stage, Erika Kirk gave an incredibly passionate, heartfelt speech in which she forgave her husband’s killer and called on us to follow in Jesus’s footsteps to bless, rather than curse, our enemies.
It was very beautiful. What an incredibly strong, faithful Daughter of Christ.

But, President Trump had something very different to say during his speech…
Always brutally honest, President Trump gave his unfiltered opinion.
“I HATE my opponent and I don’t want the best for them!” he said, to the laughter of the crowd.
He then apologized to Erika,
“That’s where I disagreed with Charlie! I’m sorry, Erika.“

NOW: President Trump says “I HATE my opponent and I DON’T want the best for them” and apologizes to Erika Kirk
“That’s where I disagreed with Charlie! I’m sorry, Erika. But now Erika can talk to me, and maybe they can convince me that’s not right. But I can’t STAND my opponent! Charlie’s angry, looking down, he’s angry at me now!”
Now, of course, President Trump has been criticized over this, with some accusing him of not taking the moment seriously enough.
Respectfully, I think those people just don’t get it.
This is how President Trump is. He is always himself, and he knows how to light up a room.
Sometimes you need a little lightheartedness in the midst of dark, tragic times such as these.
It’s evident how much President Trump loves Charlie, Erika, and their family.

I don’t mean to speak for him, but I really don’t believe that Charlie would want President Trump to act any other way at his funeral.
In fact, I think President Trump is right and Charlie is watching from Heaven, laughing and shaking his head!
