Bad news for CBS.

Their โ€œ60 Minutesโ€ program is under fire for cleaning up one of Kamala Harrisโ€™s word salad answer.

One of their programs released the confusing version, CBS later aired a polished version.

Now former staffers are demanding an investigation.

Looks like the network refusing to release the full transcript.

Didnโ€™t they demand President Donald Trump release his full transcript when he had an interview?

It seems CBS has a long history of this sort of thing.

And this time itโ€™s not getting swept under the rug.

New York Post reports:

Former CBS News staffers are demanding an independent investigation into โ€œ60 Minutesโ€ over the brewing Kamala Harris interview scandal โ€” even as the network stubbornly digs in its heels and refuses to release the full, unedited transcript, The Post has learned.

The long-running news show has come under fire after allegedly cleaning up the Democratic presidential candidateโ€™s answer to a question from โ€œ60 Minutesโ€ correspondent Bill Whitaker about Israel that aired during a special episode on Monday.

Her reply was starkly different from the โ€œword saladโ€ the vice president served up in a clip to promote the interview shown by โ€œFace the Nationโ€ the day before.

The controversy has prompted media insiders and critics โ€” includingย Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump โ€”ย to question the ethical standards at the Tiffany Network. โ€œI think there should be an outside investigation,โ€ one former CBS News journalist told The Post on Thursday. โ€œObviously, thereโ€™s a problem here. If they care about journalistic integrity, they would conduct an investigation or release the full transcript.โ€

A second CBS source said the discrepancy in the answers makes it seem that the networkโ€™s flagship show is โ€œbiased.โ€

โ€œTheir credibility has been called into question and their impartiality has been called into question,โ€ the source said. โ€œDonโ€™t you need a full-throated review of what went wrong?โ€

On Thursday, CBS again declined multiple requests from The Post to release the full transcript.

The network did not comment on whether it planned on launching a probe into the matter.

However, CBS has a history of both releasing full transcripts of its news programs and launching probes.

In 2013, the network investigated a โ€œ60 Minutesโ€ segment by correspondent Lara Logan about a terror attack on the US compound inย Benghaziย that left Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.

The probe, led by then-executive director of standards and practices Al Ortiz, discredited the reporting, finding it โ€œdeficient in several respects.โ€ Logan and her producer were asked to take a leave of absence.

Two sources suggested CBS tap Ortiz, who retired in 2012 after 43 years at the network, to conduct an outside review of the Harris interview.
