Unsurprisingly, Pfizer is a sponsor of the conference.

Melinda Morton Hamer “previously served on detail as a Senior Medical Advisor at BARDA’s Division of Research, Innovation and Ventures,” according to her bio page.
“She also served as Director of the Clinical Trials Center at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research from 2017-2021, where she provided oversight of clinical trials for new vaccines and drugs targeting a number of infectious diseases, including Zika virus, Ebolavirus, malaria, HIV, MERS, and others. She has served as a principal and associate investigator for more than 20 FDA regulated and other clinical trials, to include multiple first-in-human vaccine trials, and the largest in history controlled human malaria challenge trial,” her bio read.
Lauren Sullivan, another speaker, is “currently Deputy Director, Associate General Counsel at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation focusing on complex biotechnology transactions.”
The speaker list also includes representatives for pharmaceutical companies, including Merck and Sanofi.
The FDA, CDC, and NIH sent representatives to the conference.
The 2023 NVLC brings together multidisciplinary stakeholders for a legal dialogue focused on vaccines, practical learnings and networking. Speakers and attendees include experts in public health, vaccine development and manufacturing, medicine and pharmacy, vaccine finance and delivery, vaccine coverage and access, and the practice and study of vaccine law.
