While some far-left sources seem to find something supposedly disqualifying about all of President Donald Trump’s nominees, a number of Cabinet picks have found support in suprising places.
According to Breitbart, the Allied Pilots Association issued a statement urging lawmakers to approve Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as the next head of the Department of Homeland Security:
The APA urged Noem’s confirmation in a letter obtained by Breitbart News on Monday. In it, APA President Nick Silva addresses Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Gary Peters (D-MI), the chairman and ranking member of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee, which advanced Noem’s nomination Monday by a 13-2 vote.
“As commercial airline pilots, we are acutely aware of the critical importance of security protocols and the ever-evolving nature of the threats facing the aviation sector,” Silva wrote. “That is why we support President Trump’s nomination of Gov. Kristi Noem for Secretary of Homeland Security.”
“We cannot afford a vacancy in the secretary’s office, so we call for her speedy confirmation,” he adds.
Silva also emphasized the importance of collaboration between airline industry stakeholders and the DHS regarding safety.

Her performance during a recent Senate confirmation hearing also attracted some praise, as Fox News reported at the time:
Freshman Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, said Gov. Kristi Noem would be the “greatest upgrade in history” over President Joe Biden’s current Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas.
“Who should have operational control of our border, the United States government or the Mexican drug cartels?” said Moreno.
“When Mayorkas was confirmed, every single Democrat voted to confirm him, and six Republicans joined,” the senator went on.
“If we get to the vote, hopefully, chairman, we could do that Monday because we cannot wait one single day without you being in charge of hat department. We should have 100%, 100 senators vote for your confirmation. This will be the litmus test in my mind as to whether we have a Democrat party that’s actually serious about doing bipartisan things like securing this country,” he went on.
When Moreno walked out of the hearing room, he told reporters: “If the Democrats don’t all vote for her, it’s a disgrace to the party.”
