Vice President J.D. Vance said his half-brother, Cory Bowman, is on the ballot today for the primary in his bid for Cincinnati mayor.
“Hey Cincinnati! My brother Cory Bowman is running for mayor and is on the ballot today for the primary. He’s a good guy with a heart for serving his community. Get out there and vote for him!” Vance said.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer:
Cincinnati mayoral candidate Cory Bowman got a last-minute endorsement from his half-brother, Vice President JD Vance.
Vance, who owns a home in Cincinnati’s East Walnut Hills neighborhood, endorsed Bowman on X on May 6, hours before polls close. Bowman ‒ a Republican, coffee shop owner and pastor ‒ is running in Cincinnati’s mayoral primary against Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval and Republican Brian Frank.
The two winners of the May 6th primary will face off in the general election on November 4th.

Per WLWT:
Speaking with WLWT’s John London Bowman says his brother is a role model of his.
When asked if he might pull Vance in for a rally this summer or fall if he makes the cut, he said, “I’d rather pull him in just to have lunch with him cause he’s my older brother,” Bowman said. “But at the same time, what I tell people is that we’re running for the city of Cincinnati.”
Bowman’s campaign is centered on local issues, such as reducing gun violence and bringing greater attention to struggling neighborhoods, like the West End.
When asked about the two challengers, Mayor Pureval told WLWT, “I take them as good faith people who actually believe the things that they’re saying,” Pureval said. “I profoundly disagree with many of them.”
WLWT will provide results of the mayoral primary Tuesday night.
