Thomas Massie claims to be a Republican and claims to support President Trump, yet votes against him seemingly every chance he gets.
Meanwhile, he voted WITH Joe Biden and the Democrats in 2023 to remove the debt ceiling and let Biden spend whatever he wanted.
He claims to be so “principled” but it seems the complete opposite to me.
But…is he also a Freemason?
Maybe I should back up a bit and first address what is DeMolay and what is it’s connection to the Freemasons…
1. What is DeMolay International?
DeMolay International is a Masonic youth organization for boys ages 12 to 21 that focuses on leadership, community service, and character development.2. Is it related to the Freemasons?
Yes, it is sponsored and supported by Freemasonry and considered part of the Masonic family of organizations.
I want to state right off the bat that I don’t know for sure, but I’m going to show you what I’ve found.
To the best that I can find, Thomas Massie has never directly addressed the question, which seems a bit odd right?
If you’re not a Freemason, just say you’re not! Easy!
If you are a Freemason and you would prefer not to admit it because of the negative attention it would draw, then what would you do? You’d never directly address it.
But we don’t build a case by absence of evidence alone so what else do we have?
While Thomas Massie has never addressed it to the best of my knowledge, DeMolay International has!
Here they are in 2018 congratulating Massie on his re-election and stating point blank he was a Senior DeMolay from the Crimson Order.
Same post here but from Instagram:
As best I can tell, those are official DeMolay social media pages which have been established for many years and have over 100k followers. They also link directly to the official DeMolay website, so by all accounts they are official pages of the DeMolay organization.
Again in 2020 DeMolay International congratulated Massie on his re-election and again noted he was a Senior DeMolay from the Crimson Shield Chapter in Kentucky:
For those of you who are going to post in the comments below “Why don’t you just ask him Noah?” — I did.
I’ve asked in the past and received no response.
I also asked again yesterday and have received no response:
Hey @RepThomasMassie fake news is horrible, so wondering if you can confirm or deny please if you were in the DeMolay? pic.twitter.com/Y9d3rd2fa6

To be fair, I’m sure he’s busy and it’s impossible to see every single post that mentions you on Twitter, so perhaps he has never seen it.
If he directly answers the question, I will immediately post his answer here.
The answer does appear quite elusive as even ChatGPT and Grok are a bit stumped.
I turned on “DeepSearch” on both chatbots and asked the question: “Is Thomas Massie a member of the DeMolay?”
Grok told me essentially it can’t find any evidence that he is:
- There is no definitive evidence confirming Thomas Massie was a member of DeMolay International, a youth organization with Masonic origins.
- Some social media claims suggest he was involved, but these lack credible support and are tied to conspiracy theories.
- Official biographies and records, such as his Wikipedia page and congressional website, do not mention DeMolay.
ChatGPT relied on the social media posts I found above and concluded that yes, he is a member:
U.S. Congressman Thomas Massie is indeed confirmed to be a Senior DeMolay, meaning he was a member of DeMolay International during his youth. DeMolay International’s official communications have acknowledged Massie as one of their alumni.
In fact, DeMolay International publicly congratulated Rep. Massie on his congressional re-elections, explicitly noting his DeMolay background. According to DeMolay International, Massie hails from the Crimson Shield Chapter of DeMolay, located in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
This chapter in Vanceburg was the local DeMolay chapter where Massie was an active member. The reference to him as a “Senior DeMolay” signifies that he completed his involvement (aging out upon adulthood) and is recognized as an alumnus of the organization.
I will update this article if/when Rep. Massie directly responds to the question.
