The Supreme Leader of Iran has called out President Trump and the United States in a series of post on X.

On Wednesday morning, the leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, responded to President Trump’s message for Iran to surrender immediately.

Khamenei responded by saying, “The US President threatens us. With his absurd rhetoric, he demands that the Iranian people surrender to him.”

He later stated, “The harm the US will suffer will be irreparable if they enter this conflict militarily.”

Axios had more details on Khamenei’s remarks:

Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei said in a televised speech that the Islamic Republic “will not surrender” and threatened that if the U.S. takes military action against Iran, “it will undoubtedly cause irreparable consequences to them.”

Khamenei’s message was his first response to the demand made by President Trump on Tuesday for the nation’s “unconditional surrender.”

Trump is considering joining Israel’s war against Iran and ordering military strikes to take out Iran’s nuclear program.
What he is saying: “The Iranian nation stands firm against an imposed war, just as it will stand firm against an imposed peace, and this nation will not surrender to anyone in the face of imposition,” Khamenei said in his speech.

Khamenei added: “Intelligent people who know Iran, the Iranian nation, and its history will never speak to this nation in threatening language because the Iranian nation will not surrender, and the Americans should know that any U.S. military intervention will undoubtedly cause irreparable harm to them.”

Trump convened a situation room meeting with his top national security advisers on Tuesday to discuss U.S. policy towards the war between Israel and Iran.

After the meeting he spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Here’s the post by Khamenei:

CNN had these details to report:

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has criticized Israel for launching its military campaign while Tehran was holding talks with the United States over its nuclear enrichment program.

When Israel attacked Iran last week, US President Donald Trump initially cautioned Israel against taking military action while US-Iran talks were ongoing, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed that Israel’s action was “unilateral.”

However, Trump administration officials have since voiced support for Israel’s operation, and there is speculation that the US might join its campaign. Trump said last week that he had given Iran “chance after chance to make a deal” to shutter its nuclear enrichment program, which Tehran failed to do.

But in a pre-recorded video message today, Khamenei stressed that Israel’s attack “occurred at a time when our officials were engaged in indirect negotiations with the United States, and there was no indication of any aggressive, military, or hardline action from Iran.”
He claimed that the fact that Israel’s “American allies are stepping in is a sign of the Zionist regime’s weakness and inability.”

“The punishment that the Iranian nation and armed forces have carried out, are continuing to carry out, and have planned for the future is a severe one, and it has weakened the enemy,” he said.

Khamenei urged the Iranian people to continue their lives “with strength.”
