As the nation rallies around the Texas communities devastated by recent flash flooding, at least a few leftists have decided to make the tragedy all about politics.
One particularly controversial example involves a Houston-area pediatrician who shared a social media post calling for supporters of President Donald Trump to “get what they deserve.”
It turns out that Dr. Christina B. Propst is the one who got what she deserved, since she’s now unemployed, according to the New York Post:
The Facebook post quickly went viral after a screenshot was shared by Libs of TikTok.
Propst’s employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics, initially said the employee had been suspended — before announcing that “the individual is no longer employed” there.
“As we previously mentioned in our original statement, we strongly condemn the comments that were made in that post. That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics,” the company said.
“We do not support or condone any statement that politicizes tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to clearly uphold compassion for every child and family, regardless of background or beliefs,” the doctor’s office added.
A previous initial statement saying that she had been placed on leave was shared by the head of the Texas Medical Board, Dr. Sherif Zaafran.
Here’s that earlier statement:
Thank you for alerting us to this. I was made aware of this earlier. This is the response of her employer attached on here. There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors. Any complaints we may receive will be thoroughly investigated. pic.twitter.com/CRDgMNVq5Z

The doctor’s comment received widespread opprobrium from others on social media:
Wow. Parents in the Houston area, you might want to avoid seeing anyone @BlueFishMD . They have a pediatrician wishing death on children of MAGA families. Your kids are not safe with people like this https://t.co/LpWocsyl4Q

This is beyond reprehensible to whoever you are Dr Christina Propst! You should be ashamed of yourself!

Pediatrician makes Vile post about Texas Flooding. Blames MAGA and gets fired. Christina B. Propst is the perfect example of how TDS is out of control. This has nothing to do with FEMA or climate change and we all know it. These people are being manipulated by evil. pic.twitter.com/hV1F9sVh46

Mediaite reported on the story after initial reports that Propst had been suspended:
A Texas pediatrician has been placed on leave and disavowed by her employers after a viral social media post about the state’s deadly flood disaster sparked outrage and even drew the attention of the Texas Medical Board.
Dr. Christina B. Propst came under fire over a now-deleted social media post about the tragic and deadly flooding in Texas, which has left at least 79 people dead — including at least 28 children.
Among those still missing are 10 girls and one chaperone from Camp Mystic, an all-girls summer camp that was utterly destroyed by the flooding.
In a now-deleted post that was shared by screenshots on X, Propst, under her old Facebook username Chris Tina, wrote about the flooding and expressed apparent ill-will toward MAGA voters in affected areas, suggesting they should ‘get what they voted for.’”
“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry,” the original post read. “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”
