Another one bites the dust!
An Iranian official who led an effort to assassinate President Trump has been killed, according to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
“Iran tried to kill President Trump,” Hegseth said, “And President Trump got the last laugh!”

The Iranian leader who was killed has not been named yet.
But, as you may remember, back in 2024, the DOJ charged an Iranian man in connection with an assassination plot against President Trump.
Per The Hill:
In 2024, the Justice Department unsealed a criminal complaint revealing that Farhad Shakeri, 51, had been charged with murder-for-hire.
He allegedly told FBI agents in September 2024 that an Iranian official tasked him with assassinating Trump. Further details about the Iranian official were not shared at the time.
This came after Iran began threatening to assassinate President Trump in revenge for the death of General Soleimani.
Fox News provided more background:
In 2024, Iran-linked actors attempted to arrange an assassination plot to take out the president. Iran has previously threatened to assassinate Trump following the 2020 killing of Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani.
In 2022, an Iranian video depicted an assassination attempt on Trump while he played golf.
U.S. officials confirmed earlier this week that strikes on Iran, which began Saturday, killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
