This just in: the FBI has busted a massive, nationwide illegal gambling ring tied to a notorious crime family.

Over 30 people were arrested for allegedly taking part in the scheme.

Those arrested include several current and former NBA players and coaches, as well as members of the Sicilian mafia, La Cosa Nostra.

Today the FBI dismantled a multi-million dollar gambling ring tied to La Cosa Nostra, including current & former NBA players and coaches — as well as an inside scheme to rig sports betting outcomes for profit.

Here’s a breakdown of everything we know so far about the NBA gambling ring:

  • Federal law enforcement agencies launched two major operations — “Operation Zhen Diagram” and “Nothing But Net” — targeting a nationwide illegal sports-gambling ring allegedly tied to organized crime.

  • More than 30 individuals across 11 states were arrested in connection with the investigation, which involved player-performance bets, rigged poker games, and cryptocurrency-based money laundering.

  • Two high-profile NBA figures were implicated: Chauncey Billups, head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, and Terry Rozier, guard for the Miami Heat. Both were placed on leave pending the federal investigation. Former NBA player and assistant coach Damon Jones was also arrested.

  • Allegations include players and coaches sharing confidential or insider information, such as player injuries or lineup changes, to give bettors an unfair advantage.

  • The scheme reportedly relied on “face cards” — former professional athletes — to lure victims into manipulated poker games using cheating devices and concealed technology. Profits were allegedly funneled through laundering channels, including cryptocurrency.

  • The NBA stated that it is cooperating fully with federal authorities and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the league.

Those arrested are now facing multiple conspiracy charges.

The federal investigation involved multiple agencies and the NYPD as they targeted the La Cosa Nostra crime families in two separate operations across several states. Officials said Billups, Rozier and Jones face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

“Day in and day out, this FBI is following the money — and today is the result of that outstanding work,” FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement. “This operation involved an expansive effort across 11 states arresting 34 subjects, including multiple NBA players and coaches, who allegedly took advantage of their own positions of power to rig gambling systems for their own benefit — eventually funneling money to La Cosa Nostra, enriching some of the most notorious criminal networks in the world.

“That ends today — and the FBI’s efforts to make sure gambling operations of all kinds stay within the law are only beginning. Thank you to the outstanding men and women of the FBI who pursued this case and followed the facts accordingly.”

The NBA placed Billups and Rozier on immediate leave of absence.

“We are in the process of reviewing the federal indictments announced today,” the league said. “Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups are being placed on immediate leave from their teams, and we will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities. We take these allegations with the utmost seriousness, and the integrity of our game remains our top priority.”

The FBI is still investigating the ring, and more arrests could follow.
