Although details are still developing, many speculated the explosion may have been an intentional message targeted at President Trump (Trump Tower) and Elon Musk (Cybertruck).
That is yet to be confirmed.

From The Guardian:
One person died and seven more were injured on Wednesday when a Tesla truck caught fire and exploded outside Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel, authorities said.
Las Vegas metropolitan police and Clark county fire department officials said at a news conference that a person died inside the vehicle and that they were working to get the body out.
Another seven people nearby received minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
A county spokesperson said in a statement that the fire in the valet area of the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas was reported at 8.40am.
No cause was given and details were sketchy.
“I know you have a lot of questions,” Jeremy Schwartz, acting FBI special agent in charge for the Las Vegas office, said at the news conference. “We don’t have a lot of answers.”
Eric Trump, a son of the president-elect and executive vice-president of the Trump Organization, posted about the fire on the social media platform X. He praised the fire department and local law enforcement “for their swift response and professionalism”.
Earlier today, a reported electric vehicle fire occurred in the porte cochère of Trump Las Vegas. The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Las Vegas Fire Department and local law enforcement for their…

A man named Stephen Felando posted video to X from what appears to be his hotel room inside the hotel.
Felando claims it was definitely caused by an explosion:

The Daily Wire reports:
Law enforcement officials are investigating the explosion as a possible act of terrorism after the driver pulled up outside the Trump Las Vegas hotel in Nevada on Wednesday morning and the vehicle exploded just moments later.
“The driver pulled into the valet area of the hotel and the vehicle exploded,” ABC News reported, citing a law enforcement official. “The driver is apparently dead and, so far, the only casualty from the incident. Seven bystanders had minor injuries.”
Investigators were working to determine whether something happened inside or outside the vehicle that triggered the explosion.
There were large fireworks inside the vehicle that exploded and they were working to determine if they were part of a bomb that was intentionally detonated or whether it was an accident.
The fact that the vehicle involved was a Cybertruck immediately raised suspicions because of Musk’s close ties to President-elect Donald Trump.
