Earlier today, rumors started flying that Don Jr. was planning to run for President in 2028.
The single source for all the rumors was Mediaite:
TRUMP DYNASTY: DON JR. 2028?
Don Jr. is reportedly weighing a 2028 presidential run—and it’s got the political world buzzing.

Here is a portion of that article from Mediaite:
When President Donald Trump sat down for an interview with Fox News last month, anchor Bret Baier asked what should have been a softball question: “Do you view Vice President JD Vance as your successor, the Republican nominee in 2028?”
Trump’s response was glaring.
“No, but he’s very capable,” the president said matter-of-factly. “I mean, I don’t think that it, you know, I think you have a lot of very capable people. So far, I think he’s doing a fantastic job. It’s too early, we’re just starting.”
The ease with which Trump threw his vice president under the bus came as a shock to observers who expected Vance to carry on the MAGA torch when Trump leaves office in 2028.
But it came as little surprise to several in Trump’s inner circle, who spoke with Mediaite on condition of anonymity and said the remarks reflected the president’s desire to keep his dynasty alive past the expiration of his own second term in the White House.
Three high-level sources told Mediaite that Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son and an omnipresent MAGA evangelist across the internet, is seriously considering a run for president in 2028.
“Don has been the most politically involved of all the Trump kids and has always kept the lanes open for a presidential run,” one White House insider and close friend of the Trump family said. “He is a valued voice for his father, and a real possibility to be a contender in 2028.”
But Donald Trump Jr. soon put those stupid rumors to rest with this post:
LOL A lot of fake stories have been written about me over the years, but this might be the most obviously fake one yet. Congrats to @dianafalzone & @Mediaite for embarrassing themselves. You guys got played and now all your friends in the press are mocking you behind your back.

Can you say FAKE NEWS?
In fact, Don Jr. has been on record since Summer of 2024 saying it’s most likely that JD Vance takes the Presidency in 2028:
Don Jr. says ‘very high chance’ JD Vance will be elected prez in 2028 https://t.co/xOHJRR9Z6e pic.twitter.com/x2FSGXBGBY

From the NY Post, many people forget Don Jr. was instrumental in getting JD Vance to be selected as VP:
Donald Trump Jr. predicted Tuesday there is a “very high chance” that JD Vance will be elected president in 2028, adding that he himself would “never throw his hat in the ring” to be an elected official.
“I think there would be a very high chance, right?” Trump Jr. said of the running mate of his father, who wouldn’t be able to run for president again in 2028 if he wins another four-year term in the White House in November.
“He’s the one guy in that movement that’s a politician that’s out there that actually really speaks to the America-first people and isn’t sort of, ‘We’ll be right back to the establishment,’ ” Trump Jr. said of Vance at an Axios event.
Vance, at 39, is half of former President Donald Trump’s age. If elected into office as Trump’s vice president, he will be the second-youngest veep in history.
Trump Jr. had pushed for Vance to be Trump’s running mate for months. Their friendship led some to believe he could be angling for a political relationship with the Ohio senator, but the younger Trump refuted those claims Tuesday.
“I could never throw my hat in the ring or anything like that,” he said.
Instead, Trump Jr. said he would want to be an adviser for his dad and have the power to “block” anyone from working with him.
Fake news strikes again!
