As the Democrat-fueled government shutdown drags on, the CEO of United Airlines Scott Kirby is now demanding that Chuck Schumer open the damn government!

Okay, so he didn’t use that exact language.

He was much more tactful. But, that’s the essence of what he was saying.

While standing in-between VP JD Vance and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Kirby talked about how the airline industry is being impacted by the Schumer shutdown.

He basically called for Democrats to suck it up and pass the Republicans’ clean CR to get the government back up and running.

“It’s putting stress on people, it’s not fair to those people,” he rightfully noted, “it’s also putting stress on the economy.”

🚨 JUST IN: Liberals are losing their minds and swearing to NEVER fly United Airlines again after the CEO told Schumer and the Democrats to open the damn government

“It’s putting STRESS on people. It’s NOT FAIR… get a clean CR DONE.”

Imagine hating an airline because it wants Americans to get paid and fly again.
Cry harder — United will be just fine without you.

Scott Kirby is right, by the way.

The airline industry is being heavily impacted by the government shutdown.

Airline traffic controllers aren’t getting paid, which is causing some delays.

Ahead of the busy holiday season, that’s not a good thing.

Bloomberg via Yahoo Finance explained in more detail:

The shutdown has forced more than 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 Transportation Security Administration agents to show up for work without receiving pay. Missed pay days make it harder for many workers to meet basic living expenses, including child care or commuting costs, prompting some to stay home.

The longer shutdowns persist and the more paychecks controllers and TSA agents miss, the more likely those workers are to call out sick, based on patterns from prior shutdowns. Such absences subject passengers to longer wait times for security checkpoints and flight delays.

Air traffic controllers missed their first full paycheck on Tuesday. That same day, Duffy and Nick Daniels, president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, held a press conference at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, to highlight workers’ conditions. They said the situation is particularly challenging for controllers still in training and without the income levels of more experienced colleagues.

Airports across the US have already experienced delays resulting from air traffic controller shortages. Normally the percentage of delays caused by staffing shortfalls is about 5%, Duffy has said, but since the shutdown, that number is routinely higher, at times accounting for more than half of late flights.

Even so, data from aviation analytics company Cirium suggests that so far overall percentage of flights departing on time at major US airports is still within normal levels.

However, leftists are big mad at Kirby over his comments and are now threatening boycotts.

How dare he call for the government shutdown to end in order to pay hard-working Americans and ensure travels go smoothly!

Take a look at a few of these replies from liberals on X (excuse the language in some of these):

If you’re booking travels for the holidays, you know which airline to use…

This is the way:
