Throughout most of recorded history, humans have generally agreed that our species is neatly divided into two biological sexes.

In recent years, however, the leftist orthodoxy of gender identity has fueled the rapid proliferation of dozens of invented categories in addition to male and female.

Americans have largely tired of such political dogma, however, and President Donald Trump reclaimed the White House in November with a mandate to roll back such policies.

Since implementing multiple orders clarifying the federal government’s policy of recognizing only two sexes, several prominent Democrats and mainstream media pundits have spoken out against what some describe as an affront to transgender individuals.

During one recent CNN segment, the hosts and guest alike insisted that the Trump administration, not the gender extremists on the left, was responsible for changing the definition of words.

According to Fox News:

“In one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s first moves as secretary of Health and Human Services, the agency has released new guidance that gives a narrower definition of sex than the ones used by most scientists,” Keilar said Thursday.

Co-host Boris Sanchez added, “This language aligns with an executive order that President Trump signed last month and includes new definitions for words like ‘sex,’ ‘female,’ ‘woman,’ ‘male,’ ‘man’ and more.”

CNN health reporter Jacqueline Howard joined the show to offer her observation that the guidance “defines sex as, ‘a person‘s immutable biological classification as either male or female.’ So this means this definition cannot change. And a woman is defined as an adult human female and a man as an adult human male. So that‘s what the guidance states that was just recently released.”

Howard also claimed that “some” unnamed critics are speaking out against these definitions.

Leftist gender ideology in general has attracted increased backlash on social media over the course of recent months:

Aside from the musings of cable news personalities, Trump’s gender-related policy change has fueled backlash at the state and district level, including in Virginia.

According to the Daily Wire:

Albemarle County Public Schools in Charlottesville sent an email to parents on February 3 reminding them about the district’s transgender and anti-racism policies. The transgender policy states that students are “not required to obtain parental consent” to be called a new name and pronoun by teachers and school staff, who are expected to “honor” the student’s request.

“School administration will not contact a student’s parents in relation to such a request unless asked to do so by the student,” the policy reads.

“Recent events have highlighted the importance of standing together against bullying, harassment, and discrimination,” Dr. Daphne Keiser, Assistant Superintendent for School Community Engagement wrote to families.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order last month warning that schools promoting ideas like Critical Race Theory or gender ideology would see their federal funding stripped. Another executive order bans trans-identifying males in girls’ sports by threatening to rescind funds from schools that allow them to.

Here’s what the president recently had to say to Democratic Maine Gov. Janet Mills in regard to an ongoing dispute over a new federal policy banning biological males from sports teams meant for girls or women:
