First we were told the Epstein Prison Video was not edited in any way other than to clean it up and make it easier to see.
Then we were told one-minute was missing, but there’s an explanation for now.
Now today experts have scrutinized the video and found more footage is missing than initially believed — nearly 3 minutes of footage is now believed to be missing.
You have GOT to be kidding me:
BREAKING: Metadata from the “raw” Epstein prison video shows approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds were removed from one of two stitched-together clips, per WIRED.
— Leading Report (@LeadingReport) July 15, 2025
The report comes from Wired and here’s a summary of what they just reported:
DOJ released ~11 hours of surveillance footage from outside Epstein’s cell to address rumors about his death.
Footage was labeled “raw,” but metadata shows it was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro. It was stitched from at least two clips and saved multiple times.
A gap of nearly 3 minutes was cut from one clip—roughly 2 minutes and 53 seconds—ending right at a one-minute jump from 11:58:58 pm to 12:00 am.
Attorney General Pam Bondi explained the one-minute gap as due to the prison’s nightly recording system reset, saying this happens daily.
Video anomalies include changing aspect ratios and metadata timestamps, raising questions about chain of custody—even if no intentional wrongdoing is proven.
Experts caution edits may be routine—for example, converting proprietary formats to MP4—but warn that forensic metadata should be fully explained for clarity.
MAGA-aligned voices, including Dan Bongino and others, criticized the DOJ/FBI for calling the video “raw” and have asked for more transparency.
The DOJ/FBI reaffirmed their 2019 conclusion of suicide, stating there’s no evidence of a client list or foul play.

DOJ Finally Releases Full 11-Hour Video Outside Epstein’s Cell — But One Full Minute Is Missing!
Metadata Shows FBI’s Jeffrey Epstein Prison Video Was Likely Edited With Adobe Premiere Pro — Two Source Videos Put Together
It just keeps getting worse and worse for Pam Bondi and the DOJ…
We’ve previously discussed all the ways in which the Jeffrey Epstein prison video she released was bungled beyond measure, but now comes even more news that the video was almost certainly modified and edited — with Adobe Premier Pro:

Not only that, but reports are also emerging that the editing included stitching together at least two different source videos:
NEW: Metadata from the ‘raw’ Jeffrey Epstein prison video “was likely modified,” according to a new report from WIRED.
The outlet says they analyzed the 10-hour prison video with “independent video forensics experts” who concluded the “raw” footage was modified.

NEW: Metadata from the ‘raw’ Jeffrey Epstein prison video “was likely modified,” according to a new report from WIRED.
The outlet says they analyzed the 10-hour prison video with “independent video forensics experts” who concluded the “raw” footage was modified.
The outlet emphasized that at the moment, there is no evidence the footage was “deceptively manipulated” in any way, but says it was modified to some extent.
“Rather than being a direct export from the prison’s surveillance system, the footage was modified, likely using the professional editing tool Adobe Premiere Pro,” WIRED found.
“The file appears to have been assembled from at least two source clips, saved multiple times, exported, and then uploaded to the DOJ’s website, where it was presented as ‘raw’ footage.”
“Experts caution that it’s unclear what exactly was changed, and that the metadata does not prove deceptive manipulation.”
The development comes as Deputy Director of the FBI Dan Bongino reportedly took the day off today after clashing with AG Pam Bondi over the handling of the prison footage.

Editing of the video should not be entirely surprising as the DOJ told us from the beginning they were enhancing the video to make it easier to see.
Per The Hill, they even released an Original Version and an Enhanced Version:
But more skepticism emerged after the video’s release regarding the timestamp, which appears to jump ahead one minute at midnight on Aug. 10. The jump is noticeable in the original video and an enhanced version from the FBI.
So that part’s not surprising.
The surprising part is stitching together two different video sources. That doesn’t sound right and it doesn’t sound good.
The news of the editing was first broken by Wired:

Here is a quick summary of the key points made in that article:
The DOJ released nearly 11 hours of surveillance footage from outside Jeffrey Epstein’s cell the night before his death, labeling it as “full raw” footage.
Metadata shows the footage was edited, likely using Adobe Premiere Pro, suggesting it was assembled from multiple clips and saved several times.
Experts say there’s no proof of deception, but the editing indicates the video was not completely untouched, possibly reformatted for public release.
A one‑minute gap in the footage (from 11:58:58 PM to 12:00:00 AM) is present; the DOJ attributes this to a routine system reset that happens nightly.
Technical issues noted include changes in aspect ratio and compression artifacts, leading experts to doubt the footage would be admissible as raw evidence in court.
Although the timeline appears intact beyond the gap, the labeling of the video as “raw” has been criticized as misleading and may amplify public skepticism.
DOJ and FBI maintain the footage supports the official conclusion: Epstein died by suicide and no unauthorized individuals accessed his cell tier.
Critics argue the editing should have been disclosed, as the lack of transparency fuels further suspicion.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, appointed under the Trump Administration, defended the DOJ’s release, stating the gap was purely technical and the video supports the established narrative.
