β€œI expect that number to grow in the coming days,” Pritchard stated.

The Houston Chronicle, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Miami Herald and Denver Post are among the many bigger publications which have agreed to participate within the initiative, The Associated PressΒ reported.

Each paper will write and publish its personal particular person editorial ― which, Pritchard stated, will imply every approaches the subject their its perspective and with its personal voice.

β€œThe impact of Trump’s assault on journalism looks different in Boise (Idaho) than it does in Boston,” she wrote in her pitch to the nation’s papers. β€œOur words will differ. But at least we can agree that such attacks are alarming.”

Pritchard informed the AP that the Globe was spurred to behave after noticing a latest uptick within the depth of Trump’s anti-media rhetoric.

β€œWhatever happened to the free press? Whatever happened to honest reporting?” Trump requested his viewers. β€œThey don’t report it. They only make up stories.”

Pritchard stated she hoped the coordinated editorial effort will remind all Americans about β€œthe importance of a free press.”

β€œThis is not about being a Democrat. And this is not about being a Republican,” she wrote in a Saturday tweet. β€œThis is about the importance of a free press, enshrined in the Constitution, something we should all get behind.”
