Kaitlin Bennett, Kent State graduate, not sorry for AR-10 rifle images

KENT, Ohio — A Kent State College graduate isn’t apologizing for posting commencement images of herself carrying a rifle on campus.

Kaitlin Bennett tweeted that she may “arm herself” now that she was a graduate. Together with the AR-10 rifle, the picture reveals a mortar board with the phrases: “Come and take it.” The college prohibits college students, college, and employees from carrying “deadly weapons.”

Bennett stated she ought to have been in a position to carry the weapon as a pupil “especially since 4 unarmed students were shot and killed by the government.” That was a reference to Ohio Nationwide Guardsmen killing 4 college students and wounding 9 others on the college throughout a Vietnam Battle protest in 1970.

College spokesman Eric Mansfield tells WJW-TV Bennett notified the varsity that she was going to have the images taken.
