The fiancée of Ryan Whyte Maloney, the singer best known for competing on “The Voice,” witnessed the moment he died of suicide at the age of 44, according to a police report.
The couple fought moments before Maloney passed on Tuesday, January 28, the fiancée told law enforcement, per the report obtained by TMZ.
Maloney was intoxicated, his fiancée claimed, saying they argued in the car after leaving the New York-New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where he performed earlier that evening.
While driving home, Maloney’s fiancée asked him if he had her jacket, the report stated. After the “Voice” crooner replied that he didn’t, he allegedly grew annoyed and eventually called her a “bitch.”
Maloney proceeded to reach into the glove compartment of the car, grab a gun and exit the vehicle, the report added.
His fiancée said she then heard a gunshot and opened her car window to yell for Maloney, but he had already taken off.
Leaving the car herself, she ran after him. At that point, she heard a second gunshot and saw Maloney’s body collapse to the ground.
After she called 911, police arrived and pronounced Maloney dead at the scene.
The police report stated that Maloney had previously contemplated suicide and harmed himself.
The Las Vegas Police Department did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Surveillance footage from the New York-New York Hotel and Casino and the nearby MGM Grand allegedly captured footage of Maloney’s death, according to the police report, per TMZ.
Maloney died from a gunshot wound to the head at 2:50 a.m. local time on Tuesday, a spokesperson from the coroner’s office in Clark County, Nevada, previously confirmed to The Post. His death has been ruled a suicide.
On Monday, just hours before his passing, the “Voice” alum posted a video on his Instagram story that appeared to be filmed at a bar inside the New York-New York Hotel and Casino.
The musician appeared on “The Voice” in 2014 for season 6, the same season as Morgan Wallen.
Maloney turned all four judges’ heads with his rendition of Journey’s “Lights,” ultimately opting to join Blake Shelton’s team.
One of the country star’s top 5 finalists, Maloney recorded four singles during his tenure on the singing competition show, including “Lights,” Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “Easy” by Rascal Flatts and “Second Chance” by Shinedown.
Maloney reportedly remained close with the “God’s Country” star after leaving “The Voice” and had an ongoing residency at Shelton’s Las Vegas music bar, Ole Red, according to his website.
His bio also stated that, in addition to being a singer, Maloney wrote songs for other artists and had experience as a studio musician, engineer and producer.
He continued releasing his own work in recent years as well. In January 2023, he dropped his single “Don’t Put Me in a Box” on country radio before debuting “Love With Nowhere to Go,” “Sleepwalk” and “Toast To Tonight.”
