Dating an A-list celebrity can be a real “Beach.”
Vittoria Ceretti, widely known for being Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend, has confessed that she hates being referred to as his significant other.
The Italian model, 26, spoke indirectly about her relationship with DiCaprio, 50, in a new interview with Vogue France. Though she didn’t mention the Oscar winner by name, Ceretti discussed her relationship with a man the magazine described as a “very, very famous actor” and “one of the most desired people in the world.”
Ceretti has been linked to DiCaprio since May 2023, when they reportedly met at the premiere of his movie “Killers of the Flower Moon” at the Cannes Film Festival.
Being linked to someone more famous, however, is not something she enjoys. In fact, she hates it.
“As soon as you’re in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become ‘girlfriend of’—or ‘boyfriend of,’ for that matter,” she said. “And that can be extremely annoying. Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so’s girlfriend who was so-and-so’s ex. So it’s not nice to think that you can’t love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you.”
Dealing with dating someone as famous as DiCaprio is “something you learn,” she explained.
“If what you’re experiencing is real, if you know you love each other, then there’s no reason to be alarmed. Because love protects and gives confidence.”
Ceretti also shared that the pair met “in Milan” but added, “I prefer not to go into details.”
When asked whether she’s seen DiCaprio’s most well-known movie, “Titanic,” she coyly replied, “It’s an iconic film,” before trailing off.
The pair’s reported meet-cute in Cannes happened as Ceretti was finalizing her divorce from her husband, DJ Matteo Milleri, aka Anyma, 36. The two said “I do” in 2020 and officially ended their union in June 2023.
In August of that year, Ceretti and DiCaprio were spotted on an ice cream date in Santa Barbara, Calif. One month later, they were seen getting hot and heavy in Ibiza, Spain, making out in a club.
A source told Page Six at the time that the pair were still getting to know each other on a “deeper level.”
DiCaprio and Ceretti’s romance has since blossomed, however, and the couple have enjoyed dates in New York City and even spent the holidays together.
Still, the “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” star “doesn’t see himself ever getting married” to Ceretti and “is happy with where things are at between them,” according to an insider who spoke to Page Six.
“Leo doesn’t feel the need to tie the knot to make things official in his eyes,” the source added.
