Nikki Glaser is a big fan of Ozempic.
The comedian, 40, appeared on βThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonβ Monday and advocated for people taking the medication to lose weight.
βOh, I love it, I love. Iβm like, do it, do it. I have no judgment,β she said. βIf you want to do Ozempic, hell yeah, girl.β
Glaser continued, βI want people to feel more comfortable talking about doing it, because I feel like thereβs this shame. And the shame is only from thin people who want you to stay fat. Thatβs really where itβs coming from.β
The Golden Globes host joked that Ozempic critics are βso madβ users are getting thin because βthatβs all they have.β
βYou have your dynamic, you have a good personality, and theyβre like, βNo.β Theyβre so mad,β she said. βBut they canβt say it right. They just go, βYouβre stealing medicine from diabetics who need it.β Thatβs their excuse. Like anyoneβs ever cared about someone with diabetes who doesnβt have it.β
βItβs suddenly all these thin white women who are like, βDiabetics need their meds.β No, I think youβre upset that Kathy Bates has a thigh gap,β Glaser joked, adding, βSheβs coming for you. Thatβs more what it could be about, I think.β
Bates, 76, told People in October that she lost 20 pounds on Ozempic and 80 pounds from changes to her lifestyle and diet over the last seven years.
βThereβs been a lot of talk that I just was able to do this because of Ozempic,β Bates told the outlet, adding, βBut I have to impress upon people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. Itβs very hard to say youβve had enough.β
βI ate because I was afraid, and I ate because it was a FU to my self-esteem,β said the βMatlockβ star, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes around 2017.
β[Diabetes] runs in my family, and Iβd seen what my father had gone through. He had had a leg amputation. One of my sisters is dealing with it very seriously, and it terrified me. It scared me straight,β she added.
Additional celebrities who have admitted to taking Ozempic and other medications like Mounjaro to lose weight include Amy Schumer, Oprah Winfrey and Sharon Osbourne.
But some stars have denied being on Ozempic while looking noticeably thinner β which βHacksβ star Meg Stalter doesnβt appreciate.
βLetβs just say the trips to the bathroom would say otherwise, okay? We know if youβre on it because youβre sβtting your pants,β the 34-year-old actress said on the βGrindr Presents: Whoβs The Aββ? with Katyaβ podcast last week.
βHow is that hotter than being fat? That is insane to me. That is crazy,β she added.
