He knows best!

Todd and Julie Chrisley’s attorney is speaking out after the reality stars’ prison releases sparked backlash, leaving fans divided over President Trump’s decision to pardon the pair.

Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, only served a little over two years of their combined 19-year sentence when they walked out of prison on May 28.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” stars were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022 after being accused of defrauding the government by submitting fake documents to secure over $30 million in fraudulent loans.

But that all changed when Trump issued his pardons last month after buddying up with Todd and Julie’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, 27.

Rumors began swirling, with many accusing Savannah of “paying for” or “sleeping” with someone in exchange for her parents’ freedom. She denied the allegations.

Now, Jay Surgent, an attorney for the famous family who was pivotal in their case, is addressing the backlash against the Chrisleys.

“The Chrisleys have correctly, both factually and legally, been pardoned by President Trump. While one may assume that their pardon only had to do with the Chrisleys’ notoriety, nothing could be further from the truth,” Surgent told The Post in an exclusive statement.

He also gave Savannah credit for her determination in getting her parents’ pardoned.

“Quite frankly, it was through the diligent efforts of their daughter, Savannah, and co-counsel that her parents received due consideration by President Trump, along with Savannah Chrisley’s advocacy for criminal justice reform that she summarized at the Republican National Convention,” he continued.

Surgent explained that “as one of the Chrisley’s attorneys, their constitutional rights had been violated by the unlawful seizure of documentation by Georgia authorities, which was handed over to the federal authorities as basis for an illegal prosecution based on this information that should have been suppressed,” which he shared is “the reason President Trump had the Chrisley released from custody.”

Todd and Julie’s attorney previously told The Post that his business has been booming since their pardons, with hopeful families asking him for help in doing the same with their incarcerated loved ones.

“The disparity of sentencing throughout the entire criminal justice system in the United States is absolutely outrageous, and there must be an adjustment to our entire approach to sentencing whether it be in New York, Florida, New Jersey or elsewhere,” Surgent charged.

And prisoners’ family members aren’t the only ones reaching out after the Chrisleys’ release.

“It should be noted that I have received many comments from concerned citizens across the entire United States, and most have been favorable in support of the Chrisleys being released from their unfortunate incarcerations,” the attorney continued.

Surgent said it’s now time for Todd and Julie to “get back to the normalization of their lives with their family, and regain custody and care of their young daughter Chloe,” whom they legally adopted in 2016.

During their prison stints, Savannah took temporary custody of Chloe, who is Todd’s oldest son Kyle Chrisley’s child.

While the “Chrisley Knows Best” patriarch and his wife are getting back to normal life, that also includes making their reality TV comeback.

Todd held his first press conference just days after being pardoned and revealed that he and Julie “started filming literally the night that we got home.”

The pair have been married for almost 30 years and weren’t able to communicate since reporting to prison in January 2023.

Savannah teased that cameras went back up to capture “the first time” her parents reunited.
