TikTok star Rachel Yaffe has died. She was 27.

Yaffe’s death was confirmed in her online obituary, which revealed she passed away Friday after battling a rare form of liver cancer.

There will be “private” funeral services for her in Maryland, per the obituary.

Yaffe is survived by her devoted parents, Linda and Wayne Yaffe, her siblings, Jordan and Jessica Yaffe, her grandmother, Sydney Bass, and her dog, Layla.

Her family asked that contributions be made to Experience Camps, a nonprofit organization for grieving children based in Westport, Connecticut.

The late star posted her final TikTok on Sept. 1, where she said she “was grateful” to be home in New York after moving back to Maryland to be near her family while getting cancer treatment.

“It’s been so hard for me to get up and force myself to move, so I’m working on doing that,” she said, adding, “Thankfully it’s easier to walk around here being in a city.”

Yaffe also said she was “working really hard” to be on a strict food regimen, which was “taking up a lot of energy” for her.

“Finding the little joys helps me stay motivated even on my worst day,” she captioned the video.

Yaffe explained that she was diagnosed with cancer at age 20 in an April 2023 TikTok.

“I went to a doctor over the summer, who knew me personally, and she felt around my whole body. She even felt my liver and she didn’t feel anything, but she was like, ‘I can tell in your eyes that you feel like something is wrong with you,’” she said. “I feel like everyone was making me feel like it was my anxiety, like, I was crazy … I went the next day to get an ultrasound. I thought I was just allergic to gluten because I was also getting bloated.”

Yaffe said that a doctor discovered she had a “20-centimeter tumor” called fibrolamellar on her liver. She had a procedure to remove the tumor, but three months later her cancer returned and progressed to Stage 4.

In an Aug. 22 TikTok, Yaffe said her proton therapy treatment made her feel “super fatigued, tired and weak.”

“I finally started to feel strong enough to come back to New York where my support system of friends are, and where I feel more inspired to go on walks and strengthen my body,” she said.

Yaffe wrote in her caption that after “a rough few months” she was “starting to feel better, happier and stronger again.”
