TikTok star John Crawley, who was better known online as KingBeardX, has passed away. He was 47.
Anthony Caruso, Crawley’s friend and former podcast co-host, announced the sad news on Tuesday, Aug. 19, on a GoFundMe page he had set up for the popular TikTok comedian earlier this month.
“I’m really sorry to tell everyone the bad news but Pimpmunkx (KingBeardx) passed away yesterday,” Caruso wrote. “Thank you to everyone that has supported the fundraiser so far.”
“His mother says told me to thank you all,” he added. “The fundraiser will continue to go on to support fundraising a funeral/helping John’s mother.”
Crawley, who garnered over 3.5 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, went to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, earlier this month because he was struggling to breathe.
Crawley’s condition was “quite unstable,” per the fundraising page, and he was later placed in the ICU.
Crawley’s family asked Caruso to help them launch a fundraiser to raise money for the TikTok star’s medical bills because he didn’t have health insurance.
“John is the main breadwinner for his family, and unfortunately, he doesn’t have medical insurance,” Caruso explained roughly two weeks before Crawley’s shocking death. “His condition is quite unstable, and we’re all worried about him.”
Crawley’s obituary on Glenfield Funeral Home’s website confirmed that the beloved social media personality passed away on Aug. 18 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Several of Crawley’s fans paid tribute to the late internet star on his obituary page.
“This is incredibly sad,” one person wrote. “My condolences to his friends and family. Loved watching his videos. Always made me laugh. Rest in peace buddy.”
“I watched him on TikTok and he always made me laugh! May he rest in peace! Healing vibes to the family,” added another.
“This man was so sweet on social media! He was so funny and caring. My condolences go out to his family!” penned a third.
“You always made my day, even when I had really bad days,” added yet another heartbroken fan. “I would watch your videos, and you made my day way better. You will be truly missed. My prayers and condolences go out to your family.”
