Sheβs in her showgirl era.
Ahead of her first-ever podcast interview on boyfriend Travis Kelceβs βNew Heightsβ episode on Wednesday, Taylor Swift officially announced her upcoming 12th album, βThe Life of a Showgirl,β which she will drop on Oct. 3.
The βLove Storyβ singer also shared the albumβs cover art, which features Swift in a green, sparkling showgirl dress while submerged in water. The recordβs title is included in big, orange, glittered text.
βAnd, baby, thatβs show business for you,β the βAnti-Heroβ superstar captioned the post. βNew album The Life of a Showgirl. Out October 3.β
Meanwhile, Swift also revealed her new albumβs 12-song tracklist, including a surprise collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
The first six songs are officially titled βThe Fate of Ophelia,β βElizabeth Taylor,β βOpalite,β βFather Figure,β βEldest Daughterβ and βRuin the Friendship.β
As for the last six songs, they are βActually Romantic,β Wi$h Li$t,β βWood,β βCANCELLED!,β βHoneyβ and the titular βThe Life of a Showgirl.β
Carpenter, 26, will feature on the recordβs final, eponymous track, and Swift produced her 12th studio album with Max Martin and Shellback.
βThe Life of a Showgirlβ is Swiftβs first album since βThe Tortured Poets Department,β which came out April 19, 2024 and was nominated for six Grammy Awards.
Her album discography also includes βTaylor Swiftβ (2006), βFearlessβ (2008), βSpeak Nowβ (2010), βRedβ (2012), β1989β (2014), βReputationβ (2017), βLoverβ (2019), βFolkloreβ (2020), βEvermoreβ (2020)β and βMidnightsβ (2022).
The βEnchantedβ singer performed songs from her first 11 albums on her record-breaking Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024 and grossed over $2 billion.
In May, Swift finallyΒ gained control of her music catalog after a years-long dispute with Scooter Braun. The music executive acquired Swiftβs first six albums when he purchased her former record label, Big Machine Records, for a reported $300 million back in June 2019.
After the sale, Swift argued that she was never βgiven the opportunity to buyβ the masters herself and, as a result, she re-recorded four of her first six albumsΒ to regain ownership of them.
In Nov. 2020, Braunβs company, Ithaca Holdings, sold Swiftβs master recordings to Shamrock Capital.
When Swift gained possession of her masters back from Shamrock Capital earlier this year, she called it her βgreatest dream come trueβ in a heartfelt message to fans.
βI almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled then yanked away. But thatβs all in the past now,β the βAnti-Heroβ singer wrote in an Instagram statement.
βIβve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening,β Swift added.
βI really get to say these words: All of the music Iβve ever made β¦ now belongs β¦ to me,β she concluded.
