Sundance Head, the country singer who won season 11 of “The Voice,” was shot on his Texas ranch on Friday.
Jason “Sundance” Head’s agent Trey Newman told The Post, “he’s stable,” adding that the gunshot wound was “to his naval area.”
“It missed all vital organs. It was not self-inflicted.”
“We don’t know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby,” Newman said.
“The bullet is lodged in some fatty tissue, and the only way it could have have happened is if it travelled through something else,” the rep explained.
Head, 46, was the one to call 911, Newman shared, adding that he was “life-flighted” off of his ranch to a hospital.
“We thought he was going to go in for immediate surgery,” Newman went on, but said that at this time surgery does not seem necessary.
“It sounds like they’re gonna leave it in there,” he said, referring to the bullet.
“His wife is on the way to the hospital now to get a little more information from the doctors. We’re not sure if he is awake.”
Earlier on Friday, Head posted a photo on his Facebook page showing the inside of a tent. “Woke up this morning to the sound of silence,” he captioned the photo.
Newman told The Post that Head was hunting on his ranch at the time.
Head’s wife, Misty, shared updates on the singer’s condition on both her and her husband’s Facebook accounts.
“Praise Jesus! Bullet missed all vital organs,” she wrote on her page Friday evening, as she was driving to the hospital, adding that she was still an hour away.
Shortly before, Misty posted on Head’s page, telling fans, “Doctor just called me bullet went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall missing all vital organs. He will not require surgery as they are not removing the bullet.”
“I’m sure she said why but my head is in a fog right now,” she continued.
“Him being on the bigger side was a good thing. Bullet is in his fatty tissue. Thanks for all the prayers.”
Sundance Head first tried his hand at TV singing competitions on “American Idol” in 2007, making it to the semifinals of the show’s sixth season before being eliminated. In 2016, he won season 11 of “The Voice,” with the help of his coach, fellow country crooner Blake Shelton.
Head’s blind audition — a rendition of Otis Redding’s “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” — was described by Rolling Stone as one of the best in the show’s history at the time.
Head has released four albums, most recently 2022’s “Starting Again.”
