David Harbour looked unrecognizable as filming kicked off on his new movie, “Evil Genius,” in Woodbridge, New Jersey, on Monday.
The “Stranger Things” star, 50, was spotted on set while dressed in a fat suit that made him appear much heavier than his fan-favorite character, Jim Hopper, in the hit Netflix series.
Harbour, who sported gray hair, a beard and dark-framed glasses, completed his “Evil Genius” look with a blue short-sleeve work shirt, a pair of denim overalls and a tan winter jacket.
One photo showed the “Thunderbolts” star standing off to the side and holding a script in-between takes, while another caught him laughing it up and smiling over at the camera.
Directed by “Friends” alum Courteney Cox, “Evil Genius” is based on Barbara Schroeder and Trey Borzillieri’s 2018 true crime documentary of the same name.
The original four-part doc explored the infamous “pizza bomber” case, which unfolded in 2003 when a 46-year-old pizza deliveryman named Brian Wells held up a bank in Erie, Pennsylvania, with a bomb strapped around his neck.
Wells ultimately died when the bomb was detonated shortly after the robbery.
“I’ve been fascinated by ‘Evil Genius’ since I first saw the documentary,” Cox, 61, told Deadline when the project was officially announced on Nov. 5.
“It’s stranger than fiction,” she continued. “At moments darkly funny and yet deeply emotional. A story about love, loneliness, manipulation, and the people on the fringes who get pulled into something much bigger than themselves.”
Patricia Arquette, Michael Chernus, Garret Dillahunt, Ryan Eggold, Harlow Jane and Trevor Long round out the cast.
Harbour, meanwhile, is preparing for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things,” which debuts on Nov. 26.
Although there were rumors that fellow “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, 21, accused Harbour of harassment and bullying on the set of the Netflix hit, the pair appeared closer than ever during the Season 5 premiere in Los Angeles last week.
“I’ve obviously had a really special bond with David because we have a father-daughter relationship, and we do every scene together,” Brown told Entertainment Tonight during the event. “You really get to see that in season 5.”
“I adore her, and I’ve been proud to watch all of them grow up and become great artists,” Harbour told the outlet. “I doubt it will be the last time we’ll see each other in this world or work together.”
“Stranger Things” creator Matt Duffer and co-executive producer Shawn Levy addressed the bullying and harassment claims head-on at the Nov. 6 premiere.
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them,” Duffer, 41, told The Hollywood Reporter.
“At the end of the day, that’s the job,” Levy, 57, added. “You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
Harbour recently made headlines thanks to his estranged wife, Lily Allen, too. The “Smile” singer, 40, appeared to accuse Harbour of cheating on her in her newly-released “revenge” album, “West End Girl.”
In February, People reported that the pair split after four years of marriage.
