Sharon Stone’s mother, Dorothy Marie Stone, has passed away at the age of 91.

The “Basic Instinct” actress announced the news on Monday, July 21, in a short post on Instagram.

“My hilarious, complex mother died,” Sharon, 67, wrote alongside a sweet photo with her late mom. “A product of the last depression, let’s NOT do this again.”

“Let’s protect and care,” she added with an American flag emoji.

While Sharon announced her mother’s death this week, an obituary for Dorothy published in the Montana newspaper Daily Inter Lake revealed that she passed away back in March.

“Mother of Michael, Sharon and Kelly (and the late Patrick Stone) passed away peacefully with her family and close friends by her side on March 26, 2025,” the obit read.

Born on May 26, 1933, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, Sharon’s mother married Joseph Stone in 1950.

The couple welcomed the Oscar nominee and her three siblings during their nearly 60 years together, and remained married until Joseph died in 2009 at the age of 79.

Some of Sharon’s more than 4 million followers rushed to Instagram to mourn the actress’ late mother and offer their condolences.

“She gave birth to an inspiring woman!” one fan wrote. “Rest in peace.”

“I’m so sorry, Sharon,” added another with a red heart emoji. “Sending you love and strength.”

“So very sorry for your loss, Sharon,” commented a third. “Sending love.”

This is not the first time the “Total Recall” actress has lost one of her loved ones in recent years.

Sharon’s younger brother, Patrick Stone, passed away from a heart attack in February 2023. He was 57.

“We did lose my brother Patrick Joseph Stone to a heart attack yesterday,” she announced in an Instagram video at the time. “Like any family, we thank you for your love and support in this time of immeasurable grief and we appreciate all of your condolences.”

Before her brother’s death, the “Sliver” star’s 11-month-old nephew and godson tragically passed away in August 2021.

River, who was Sharon’s brother Patrick’s baby son, had been hospitalized one week earlier after suffering total organ failure.

“My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today,” she said alongside a photo of River hooked up to a machine in his hospital bed.

“Please pray for him,” Sharon added. “We need a miracle.”

Sadly, he passed away a few days later.

“River William Stone Sept. 8, 2020 – Aug. 30, 2021,” Sharon captioned a video at the time to forever honor her late nephew’s memory.
