Sharon Osbourne forbid Ozzy Osbourne to join the pirate’s life.
The British TV personality, 72, said on Wednesday’s episode of “The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan” podcast that she didn’t let her husband, 76, star in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise back in the day.
“Do you want to know the biggest mistake I ever made with Ozzy? He got offered to go and read for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ and I’ve never said this to anyone, and I said no,’” Sharon shared.
“Now wouldn’t he have been perfect?” Sharon added.
Corgan, 57, said of Ozzy, “He would have been perfect! Maybe it’s not too late, but God bless.”
Sharon then pointed out that another rock legend appeared in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
“Because when Johnny [Depp] wanted Keith [Richards] to be a pirate, you remember?” Sharon asked.
Richards, 81, played Depp’s on-screen father, Captain Teague, in the “Pirates” franchise. The Rolling Stones musician appeared in 2007’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and 2011’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
Ozzy has appeared in several movies including “Private Parts,” “Little Nicky,” “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and “Ghostbusters.”
The Black Sabbath singer and Sharon have been married since 1982 and have three children together: Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39. Ozzy has two other children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.
In 2016, Sharon learned that Ozzy was having a four-year affair from scouring through his emails. She kicked Ozzy out of their marital home and they briefly parted ways before getting back together.
In 2019, Ozzy opened up about his infidelity, hailing Sharon as a “god” for taking him back.
“Sharon and I have never been as close as we are now. It’s great. Sharon has been a god,” he told The Sun at the time.
“We all make mistakes. I’m lucky she took me back. Sometimes I sit there and go, ‘What the f–k was I thinking?’ I won’t understand why it happened until the day I die,” he added.
Ozzy has been battling Parkinson’s disease since 2019, which has forced him to quit touring.
Sharon told the Sun earlier this month that Ozzy can barely walk. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has been using a wheelchair to get around.
Ozzy recently announced that he’ll play a final farewell show with Black Sabbath, before he fully retires from performing. The charity concert will take place July 5 at Villa Park in his hometown of Birmingham, England.
“He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this,” said Sharon of Ozzy’s last hurrah.
