Whether Samara Weaving was ready or not, it was time to shoot a movie.
The actress, 34, recalled getting hurt ahead of filming the sequel to the 2019 thriller “Ready or Not.”
“I was really terribly injured before filming this and I couldn’t walk,” Weaving exclusively told The Post while promoting “Ready or Not 2.” “Basically, I have a dead disc in my back and I had three bulging discs. It was horrendous. I couldn’t move, and then miraculously, I came to life. I came to life and I could walk and run like two days before shooting. It was truly insane.”
The Australian native’s co-star, Kathryn Newton, shared just how nervous everyone on set was.
“You should have seen the producers every day,” the 29-year-old chimed in.
“Everyone was really nervous that I wouldn’t be able to do it,” reflected Weaving.
Luckily, the “Babysitter” actress had her husband Jimmy Warden with her for support.
“He was there and helped me, and I was so high on pain meds and he was helping me, just feeding me,” Weaving detailed. “He’d have to help me to the bathroom, like put me in the shower. It was it was rough.”
As the “Borderline” star, who is expecting her first child with Warden, put it: “He’s a good boy.”
“Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” follows sisters Grace (Weaving) and Faith (Newton) who fight for their lives against a series of satanic families that want to control the world.
According to Weaving, another film almost didn’t happen.
“We all didn’t think there would be a second one,” confessed the “Eenie Meanie” actress. “And then there were little whispers of conversations that, ‘Maybe we should do another one’ and, ‘Will Searchlight want to do it? Will we be able to get everyone back together?’”
“And then suddenly those whispers became real conversations,” said Weaving. “And then suddenly we’re signing contracts and it’s happening. And the script is being written. So it was really a surprise – the best surprise, because I had so much fun on the first one, and they’re all my favorite people. So I’m just really grateful that we got to do it again and be silly little beans.”
The sequel also saw a series of new faces, including Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shawn Hatosy.
Behind the scenes, Newton and Weaving formed a close bond with the scream queen.
“She gets tattoos at the gym,” Weaving revealed about Gellar, 48.
“Sam’s like ‘I like that,’ and she’s like, ‘Thanks. I got it at the gym the other day!’”
“She gets impromptu tats at the gym,” teased Weaving.
“When does she even go to the gym” asked Newton before joking about their on set shenanigans: “You can do it all and have poutine at three a.m. and get in a fight scene.”
If the franchise were to continue for a third installment, Weaving is hoping to shake things up in a big way.
“I really am on board for this like, let’s completely change genres, let’s just make a rom-com. The third one is them on holiday in Hawaii and they meet two handsome boys. And it’s just us kissing boys drinking,” she pitched.
“They need to read the role for me shirtless,” teased Newton. “And they need to play golf because we’re going to be in Hawaii and I want to play. They can audition!”
“There’s a lot of great people I’d love to work with,” she added.
“Michael Jordan just did ‘Sinners’ so he’s in a horror genre space,” noted Weaving. “But we’re going to make it a rom-com. But yeah let’s get Michael B Jordan and Paul Mescal!”
“Ready or Not 2” hits theaters on March 20.
