Sam Hunt’s “Cop Car” song didn’t age well.

The country singer, 40, was arrested on Jan. 20 for speeding and violating an interlock device, according to TMZ.

Police pulled Hunt over in Henderson County, Tennessee, and took him to jail before releasing him the same day on a $1,500 bond.

An interlock device is also known as a car breathalyzer. The device measures breath alcohol content and requires the driver to blow into the device to enable the vehicle’s ignition. The mechanism is intended to prevent drunk driving.

Hunt was arrested for a DUI in 2019, which could explain why his car had the interlock device. Though it’s unclear if they are related, Hunt was ordered to have an interlock device installed in his car after his driving license was reinstated as part of the plea deal he took stemming from the 2019 arrest.

A representative for the singer confirmed his arrest in a statement given to TMZ on Wednesday, saying that Hunt cleared the necessary paperwork in court this week and will not be charged. He added that Hunt received a speeding ticket, which he plans to pay.

The Post has reached out to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and Hunt’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Hunt’s November 2019 arrest came after cops in Nashville, Tenn. stopped him for allegedly driving the wrong way down an East Nashville road, swerving in and out of his lane and crossing the center divider several times.

The five-time Grammy nominee allegedly confessed to consuming alcohol recently, per his arrest warrant, and kept trying to hand the officers his credit card and passport rather than his driver’s license.

Hunt consented to a Breathalyzer test and blew a 0.173, over twice the legal limit.

He was booked on charges of driving under the influence and having an open container.

In 2021, the artist pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor DUI and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, all of which was suspended except for 48 hours.

As part of his plea deal, Hunt agreed to serve his sentence at the DUI Education Centers, an alternative sentencing facility, in addition to finishing an alcohol safety course. The “Body Like a Back Road” singer also lost his license for one year and was mandated to have an interlock installed in his vehicle after his license was reinstated.

Hunt faced more than two years in prison had the case gone to trial.

Hunt addressed the arrest in his song “Locked Up,” which he released last April.

“The night I got locked up / Everything went wrong,” he sings. “The night I got messed up / I should’ve just stayed home / Picked up my phone / What can I say / Well, I thought that you’d walk away,” the lyrics continue, referring to his wife Hannah Lee Fowler, who filed for divorce in 2022 before withdrawing the petition just a few months later. The couple is still married, and they share two kids.

“But you stood by your man / Like Tammy Wynette / Did everything / You could’ve just quit / No, but you showed me love / Kept going when the going got tough / The night I got locked up.”
