A royal treat!
Prince William and Kate Middleton have released their 2024 Christmas card.
In the festive portrait shared on Thursday, Dec. 19, the Prince and Princess of Wales can be seen smiling alongside their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
“Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas,” the couple captioned the festive snap shared on their official Instagram.
The royals have an annual tradition of releasing portraits to mark the festive holiday. However, last year’s photograph seemingly didn’t wind up being everyone’s favorite.
The black-and-white photo captured George, Charlotte and Louis all dressed in white button-down shirts and dark pants.
“Our family Christmas card for 2023,” the couple captioned the image shared last December.
They said in a statement that they “are very pleased to share a new photograph of their family.”
“The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year, was taken by the photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year and shows The Prince and Princess with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in Windsor,” they added at the time.
However, soon after the upload, some social media users critiqued the family’s photo choice.
“It’s giving JCPenney,” one person joked, adding that the royal family members “are just like us.”
“Gotta love all the CHRISTMAS decor in the background,” another sarcastically added, referring to the blank background. “Just screams Christmas all over.”
A third argued that they are “attempting to look like an everyday family.”
While they are skipping the annual royal family pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace today, the Prince and Princess of Wales are gearing up to journey to Sandringham in Norfolk to spend Christmas with the rest of the royals.
There, they will gather with King Charles, Queen Camilla and the rest of the senior royals for a fun-filled festive schedule that includes several Christmas meals, gift-giving and a game of charades.
However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as their two children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, are absent from this year’s royal festivities.
Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending the holiday at their Montecito, Calif., home with their two children, as well as Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland. They released their Christmas card earlier this week.
