A royal treat!
Prince William and Kate Middleton have released their 2024 Christmas card.
In the festive portrait shared on Thursday, Dec. 19, the Prince and Princess of Wales can be seen smiling alongside their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
βWishing everyone a very happy Christmas,β the couple captioned the festive snap shared on their official Instagram.
The royals have an annual tradition of releasing portraits to mark the festive holiday. However, last yearβs photograph seemingly didnβt wind up being everyoneβs favorite.
The black-and-white photo captured George, Charlotte and Louis all dressed in white button-down shirts and dark pants.
βOur family Christmas card for 2023,β the couple captioned the image shared last December.
They said in a statement that they βare very pleased to share a new photograph of their family.β
βThe photograph, which features on Their Royal HighnessesβΒ ChristmasΒ card this year, was taken by the photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year and shows The Prince and Princess with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte andΒ Prince LouisΒ in Windsor,β they added at the time.
However, soon after the upload, some social media users critiqued the familyβs photo choice.
βItβs giving JCPenney,β one person joked, adding that the royal family members βare just like us.β
βGotta love all the CHRISTMAS decor in the background,β another sarcastically added, referring to the blank background. βJust screams Christmas all over.β
A third argued that they are βattempting to look like an everyday family.β
While they are skipping the annual royal family pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace today, the Prince and Princess of Wales are gearing up to journey to Sandringham in Norfolk to spend Christmas with the rest of the royals.
There, they will gather with King Charles, Queen Camilla and the rest of the senior royals for a fun-filled festive schedule that includes several Christmas meals, gift-giving and a game of charades.
However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as their two children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, are absent from this yearβs royal festivities.
Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending the holiday at their Montecito, Calif., home with their two children, as well as Markleβs mother, Doria Ragland. They released their Christmas card earlier this week.
