LONDON — Frustrated Brits are demanding that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle be stripped of their royal titles — with one exasperated local telling The Post, “Enough is enough.”

The Duke of Sussex, 40, managed to raise even more eyebrows last week by venting to the BBC about his fractured family dynamics — just hours after he lost his appeal for taxpayer-funded UK security.

“Why on Earth do we, the British public, need to foot the bill for this?” one infuriated Brit asked, referring to publicly funded security for Harry, wife Markle and their two children.

“He chose to leave. Simple as. Want security? Should’ve stayed,” she scoffed.

Indeed, a recent poll conducted by the Express showed that 97% of the total 4,500 who were asked felt that King Charles should strip the “Spare” author of his royal title.

The results strongly echoed a previous survey conducted by polling service Find Out Now, which showed a shockingly dwindling base of support for the Sussexes across the pond.

The poll found just 36% of the British public support the Invictus Games founder retaining his title. It also found that 64% of Brits back King Charles.

Still, that sentiment hasn’t stopped the “Suits” alum from using her HRH title in private.

Last month, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, was caught referring to herself by her title — despite agreeing to stop using it following her and Harry’s dramatic exit from royal life in 2020.

After her friend Jamie Kern Lima showed off a gift basket she had received from Markle, eagled-eyed viewers spotted a note tucked away between the strawberry preserve jars.

“With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex,” read the note, which was sent about a year ago.

But sources close to the duchess told The Post that she used the HRH title on a private note in a personal gift — not intended for a public purpose.

Insiders denied that the card was a breach of the Sussexes’ agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II before her death, and claimed that neither Harry nor Markle uses their HRH titles in commercial or public settings.

Whispers of the situation soon reached British shores, with a royal insider revealing to The Post that the incident was even discussed behind palace doors.

Another disillusioned local — who once counted himself among the couple’s staunchest supporters — told The Post he believes Harry and Meghan have done everything in their power to embarrass the monarchy in recent years, particularly during such a sensitive time for cancer-stricken Charles.

“It’s despicable, to put it lightly. It’s constant attacks without any real consequences,” he said of Harry and Markle’s several lucrative tell-all projects, including his protocol-shattering book, their “Harry & Meghan” Netflix series, and bombshell 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview. “The [late] queen would be horrified.”

After they announced their departure from royal life five years ago, Buckingham Palace released a statement on the fate of the couple’s HRH titles.

“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the royal family,” the palace said at the time.

Though no formal law prevents the pair from styling themselves as His and Her Royal Highness, the couple — who tied the knot in 2018 — had assured the late queen they would honor the agreement to forgo those titles.

Her Majesty strongly opposed the “half in and half out” approach to royal life that Harry and Markle put forward before fully stepping away.

“You work for the monarchy, the monarchy doesn’t work for you,” the late monarch famously told her grandson at the time.

The titles were promptly removed from the royal family’s official website after the duo announced their exit.
