Paris Jackson is celebrating six years of sobriety with a powerful message.

Michael Jackson’s 27-year-old daughter shared an Instagram post Saturday where she reflected on her journey to beating her battle with addiction.

“Getting sober ain’t always the indication that life is perfect,” Paris wrote. “A few years in it all got very very hard. for what felt like an eternity. and i didn’t have the same survival skills i was used to having to cope.”

“I had to learn to live life on life’s terms,” she continued. “Treatment resistant major depressive disorder is a bitch. so is CPSTD. and OCD. if you’ve got this s–t, or anything of the sort, you’re not alone.”

Paris concluded her message by telling her followers, “Hang in there and if no one’s told you they love you today, i love you.”

The model’s post featured a video montage of moments of herself from the past year, including her driving in the car with her dog, playing the guitar alone, and laughing on a FaceTime call with a friend.

In the comments, fans praised Paris for embracing achieving sobriety.

“You are so strong and admirable, Paris! Congratulations on being such a warrior,” one person wrote.

“Thank you for all this!! I love you too!! 🌹🫶🏼🌹 We are all proud of you!! You are showing us your fragility but also your strength in fighting with resilience!!” someone else wrote.

Another supporter added, “You are amazing! Sometimes the only thing that keeps people from giving up is having someone say they love them and how cool you are someone who shares that message.”

Paris similarly shared an inspiring message when she celebrated the fifth anniversary of her sobriety last year.

“Hi, I’m pk and I’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict. Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol,” she wrote on Instagram in Jan. 2025. “ To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface.”

“It’s because i’m sober that i get to smile today. i get to make music. i get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat,” Jackson added. “I get to feel heartbreak in all it’s glory. i get to grieve. i get to laugh. i get to dance. i get to trust. i feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm.”

Paris has said her drug and alcohol addictions started at age 15.

In 2019, amid reports she had checked into a treatment facility to help with her emotional health, Paris insisted, “The media is exaggerating per usual.”

“Yes i’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, adding, “but i am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever!”

During her addiction battle, Paris struggled with her mental health and committed self-harm.

“A lot of people do feel regret when they try and attempt suicide,” she said on an episode of “Red Table Talk” in 2021. “There have been times where I did and times where I didn’t, where I was upset that it didn’t work.”

“But I can say, several years later, that I’m really grateful that it didn’t,” she added. “Things have gotten better.”
