Miley Cyrus has spoken out about the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
The “Flowers” singer, 32, shared a statement on her Instagram Stories on Saturday where she showed support for those impacted by the deadly fires tearing through Southern California.
Cyrus also looked back on the fire that destroyed her Malibu home in Nov. 2018.
“This is a photo taken of my front porch in 2018 after losing our house in the Woolsey fires,” she wrote, alongside a photo of her destroyed mansion that she shared with then-fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
“It’s a feeling you don’t ever forget,” Cyrus continued. “Walking up to the door you would pass through daily; looking forward to being greeted by the ones you love like you always do but instead being met by a pile of ash and rubble.”
The former Disney Channel star said that her “soul aches for those who are experiencing this devastation firsthand and I cry for my city.”
“It’s beyond heartbreaking,” she said. “Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream’ but the reality today is wreckage and destruction.”
Cyrus also shared links to wildfire response organizations including the Malibu Foundation that she helped launch in 2018.
“Time, resources and dedication from inside and outside of our community will heal us, but it hurts deeply for now,” she wrote. “Love always, Miley.”
Cyrus’ Malibu home was destroyed by a California wildfire over six years ago.
Hemsworth, 34, was home and got out safely with the couple’s pets.
“I am one of the lucky ones,” Cyrus wrote on social media at the time. “My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong.”
Cyrus later opened up about the ordeal in a 2019 interview with Vanity Fair.
“I’ll never be happy that all those memories and pictures and things that I’ve loved are gone,” Cyrus said. “But to have an experience like this—I find myself feeling more connected to being human again.”
Cyrus married Hemsworth one month after losing their house. They announced their separation in Aug. 2019 and finalized their divorce in Jan. 2020.
The 2025 LA wildfires have destroyed the homes of numerous celebs including Paris Hilton, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Mel Gibson, Eugene Levy, Diane Warren, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Billy Crystal and Rosie O’Donnell.
As of Sunday, at least 16 people have died in the crisis, while nearly 200,000 others are displaced.
