Michelle Obama is slimmer than ever, but the internet isnβt buying it.
The former first lady was accused of taking weight-loss drugs after she shared behind-the-scenes footage of a photo shoot with famous photographer Annie Leibovitz on Instagram over the weekend.
βAnnie Leibovitz has always known that a photo can do more than preserve a moment β it can say something,β Obama, 61, wrote on Friday alongside a photo of her seemingly skinnier figure.
βHer book Women did exactly that, expanding how we see women and the lives they lead through her lens,β she continued alongside a clip from the photo shoot. βIt was an honor to be photographed by Annie for the new edition, capturing the many ways women are showing up today.β
βI hope youβll find it as inspirational as I do,β the mom-of-two concluded.
While Obama posed for the shoot in a gray T-shirt, jeans and brown suede boots, she made sure to offer a peek at her toned arms and taut stomach.
However, the public health advocateβs sudden weight loss sparked unfounded speculation that she used Ozempic or similar GLP-1 meds to achieve her new slim figure.
βOzempic β just like everyone on The View who suddenly decided to βget healthy,’β one person tweeted. βIβm not knocking it β but for Christβs sake β be honest about it!β
βGLP-1. They have the money, they donβt have to worry about insurance covering it and jumping through those hoops,β commented another. βThe boomerang weight gain will be viciousβ¦ among other issues with that stuff.β
βItβs called Ozempic,β wrote a third X user, while another shared, βI would imagine Ozempic. That or a personal trainer and a strict diet, nah, Ozempic is way easier.β
The Post has reached out to Obamaβs rep for comment.
Back in 2022, the former first lady opened up about the weight she gained while going through menopause.
βI never used to weigh myself,β she told People at the time. βIβm not trying to stick to numbers, but when youβre in menopause, you have this slow creep that you just donβt realize.β
βWeβre all in menopause with stretchy bands and our athleisure wear on, and you look up and you canβt fit the outfits you had last year,β the podcast host added. βI have to be more mindful, not obsessive, but more mindful.β
Obama revisited the subject of aging and health during another chat with the outlet earlier this month.
βMy health has always been paramount,β she shared. βWhat I eat, working out, I go to regular doctorβs visits.β
βI do all the things that Iβm supposed to do, because I value my health and that also allows me to enjoy this time, because Iβm not achy, Iβm not sore, Iβm not sick,β Obama concluded. βIβm as vibrant as Iβve ever been.β
