Meghan Markle is getting candid on the holidays.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43,Β revealed to Marie ClaireΒ on Friday that she and Prince Harry, 40, had a special guest pay them a visit on Thanksgiving.Β
βLike many of us, I think you always make sure thereβs room at the table for your friends who donβt have family, which is really key,β Markle said before revealing that feminism advocate Gloria Steinem once joined the family.
Markle also confessed her and Harryβs Thanksgiving party is βalways pretty low-keyβ but that βbeing close to my mom is great.β
The podcast hostβs mom, Doria Ragland, is based in Los Angeles and reportedly has a two-bedroom guesthouseΒ on Markleβs Montecito, Calif., property when she is in town to visit.
The βSuitsβ alum also told the outlet that she and her family always make sure they do βsomething fun to doβ over the holidays.
βI love the holidays,β Markle said, adding that her kidsΒ Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie are now βthree and five, so every year it gets better.β
She continued, βAt first, I think as a mom with children youβre just enjoying having them there, but theyβre not understanding everything thatβs happening yet. But now weβre at the age where I just canβt wait to see it through their lens every year.β
That includes finding new activities to do each year.
βLike any other family you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar β fun,β Markle explained. βEvery single holiday is a new adventure.β
The producer added that itβs important for her to create the βmagicβ of traditions for her kids, like βgreat recipesβ and βcarrots for reindeersβ during Christmas.
In 2021, Meghan told Ellen DeGeneres aboutΒ her Thanksgiving plans for that year: βI love to cook, weβll be home and just relax and sort of settle in. Itβs our second Thanksgiving home in California, so it will be nice.β
Despite the Sussexes deciding to stay stateside this year, they reportedly receivedΒ an invite to spend Christmas with Princess Dianaβs side of the family.
βCharles [Spencer] has invited Harry, Meghan and the children to Althorp this Christmas,β a source toldΒ the Express in September.
βItβs far too early to say whether they will take him up on it, but the offer is there if they want it.β
