Meghan Markle who?
Drew Barrymore called Markle, 43, by her now-preferred name, Meghan Sussex, when the duchess appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
In People’s clip from the interview that will air Thursday, Barrymore, 50, shouted to the audience, “This is the Fast Five with Meghan Sussex.”
The crowd clapped as Markle answered several rapid-fire questions.
For her first answer, Markle said the last time she was surprised was when her kids Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, sent her a card during her trip to New York City.
Markle also shared that her kids have picked up on Harry’s British accent and her series “Suits” was originally called “A Legal Mind.”
Markle’s last name was a topic of conversation with her pal Mindy Kaling on an episode of her new Netflix series “With Love, Meghan.”
Kaling, 45, referred to Markle with the surname she used during her days as an actress while talking about kids’ parties and their own childhoods.
“People wouldn’t believe that Meghan Markle ate at Jack in the Box,” Kaling said, which spurred Markle to correct the “Mindy Project” star.
“It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle,’ ” Markle told Kaling. “You know I’m Sussex now.”
Markle added, “You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children. I didn’t know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name, our little family name.’ “
Kaling nodded and replied, “Now I know, and I love it.”
After Markle and Harry, 40, married in May 2018, they officially became known as “the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” a title given to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present.
The couple’s children were made Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, following the death of Queen Elizabeth and the ascension of Harry’s father, King Charles III, owing to royal rules which entitle the grandchildren of a sovereign to become prince or princesses of the realm.
Markle also spoke about the significance of her title and new last name during an interview with People.
“It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children,” she said, adding, “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
Markle made her first daytime TV appearance in over three years to promote her new Netflix show, which is being bashed by critics, and her As Ever lifestyle brand that she has yet to launch.
