Lilβ Kim is doubling down βΒ and clapping back β over recent comments that she made amid the devastating LA fires.
The rapper, 50, swiftly faced backlash after posting about the blazes via X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday.
βBeen sending strong prayers up for LA and everyone affected by the fires,β Lil KimΒ shared.
βThis is heartbreaking,β the musician, whose real name is Kimberly Denise Jones, continued. βI pray to Jesus that God make it monsoon in LA.β
Many were confused why Lilβ Kim was asking for a second natural disaster.
βThatβs not the best answer maybeβ¦βΒ one person wrote. βMake it monsoon? A disaster on top of the existing disaster? No maβam,βΒ another user quipped.
On Thursday, Lilβ Kim took to the social media platform to react.
βWhatβs happening is devastating and what LA really needs right now is rain β so whatβs the issue?β sheΒ once again penned on X.
βDoesnβt everyone understand that a monsoon is heavy rain? Iβm so happy to see that everyone is staying so positive during such a tragic situation.β
Some still disagreed with her take, with one user responding: βWe know what you meant but heavy rain would cause mudslides, flooding, high winds, or more damage.βΒ
βThis doesnβt make sense, they have no where to go if it rains! Girl delete this post!βΒ another fan pointed out.
Showing their confusion about the singerβs rhetoric, a third person added: βSister we knew you know you had pure intentions! A monsoon isnβt the answer though.β
The star then shared a screenshot defining what a monsoon is: βa seasonal shift in wind direction that can cause extreme wet or dry weather.β
βFor anyone thatβs confused. Any questions?β she captioned the picture on X.
The blazes started on Jan. 7, destroying both the Pacific Palisades and Eaton. As of Friday, the Palisades fire is now 31% contained at 23,700 acres and the Eaton fire is 65% contained at 14,100 acres.
Tens of thousands of residents throughout the Los Angeles area had to evacuate and so far there have beenΒ 27 fatalities reported.
Many celebrities have lost their homes in the fires, including Milo Ventimiglia, Mel Gibson, Joshua Jackson, and couple Adam Brody and Leighton Meester.
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag also lost their beloved Pacific Palisades home. The reality stars detailed the traumatic events in a recent interview with βGood Morning America.β
βSpencer was like, βGrab anything you want to keep,β β Montag, 38, told journalist Jaclyn Lee on Wednesday.Β βAnd I was like, βHow do you choose?β You know? My brain stopped working because I was so overwhelmed with so many things you canβt replace. So I grabbed my kidsβ teddy bears.β
βThe worst was like our kidβs room that was so magical,βΒ the Pratt Daddy Crystals founder, 41, chimed in. βWe do story time each night, itβs like our routine, so much love is in there. Our sonβs bed started just burning in theΒ shape of a heart. The fire started in the shape of a heart. I was like, βThis is like, out of body insane.β β
The pair are parents to sons Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2.
On Friday, basketball star LeBron James also revealed he and his family were forced to evacuate their residence and areΒ temporary residing in a hotel, which has left him feeling βoff.β
βThereβs been a lot of emotions,β the NBA champion, 40, said during a news conference. βI have a couple of dear friends that have lost their homes in the Palisades.β
βObviously, my heart goes out to all of the families all across not only the (Pacific) Palisades but all across LA County and all the surrounding areas because of the fire and things of that nature,β he continued. βItβs been a lot of emotions.β
