Lea Thompson got emotional when asked about her ex-fiancé Dennis Quaid’s support for President-elect Donald Trump following his historic win.

The “Back to the Future” actress, 63, was engaged to Quaid, 70, in 1984. The exes dated for five years before calling it quits in 1987.

Thompson broke down in tears when asked about her former flame’s endorsement of Trump hours after his victory over Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

She previously addressed Quaid’s endorsement after he spoke at a Trump rally in California last month, encouraging her followers to “stop the stupid.”

“You recently spoke up about your ex, Dennis Quaid and his ties with Donald Trump. You’ve been a champion for women forever, yesterday didn’t work out. How do we move forward from today?” Thompson was asked by Daily Mail in an article published on Thursday.

According to the outlet, she paused and began to cry. “I don’t know. I’m sorry,” she responded.

When asked if she was “hopeful,” Thompson replied, “I don’t feel so hopeful. I feel… scared. I have daughters.”

The star, struggling to contain her emotions, elaborated, “I don’t know if it will affect you or me, but I am a mom and know people that have been very affected by having babies that have died.

“It just, I feel really bad for them. But America’s spoken,” Thompson added.

Quaid’s ex, who has two daughters — actresses Madelyn, 33, and Zoey Deutch, 29 — with her husband, director Howard Deutch, further explained, “We fight the fights. We fight to fight and the battles that we want to carry. It’s just not a lot of fun right now.”

Thompson managed to muster a joke at the end of the interview, teasing that America needs the DeLorean from “Back to the Future” to time-travel like Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox’s characters, Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly, did in the 1985 film.

“We need that,” she laughed. “We need to get on that.”

The Post reached out to Quaid’s rep for comment.

Her comments come just weeks after she blasted Quaid for riding Trump’s MAGA wave.

Reposting a video of “The Parent Trap” actor all fired up while addressing the audience at Donald’s campaign rally in Coachella, Calif., in October, Thompson wrote, “I was engaged to him.” She also added a thinking emoji and told her followers, “#VoteBlueToStopTheStupid #crimeisactuallydown.”

Following Trump’s victory, Thompson shared quotes about heartbreak and despair on her threads profile.

Trump wasted no time basking in his landslide win, hitting the stage for his victory speech at a Mar-a-Lago party at 2:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Harris disappointed the crowd at her alma mater, Howard University, by choosing not to speak on election night.

The vice president broke her silence early Wednesday evening, telling her supporters it’s “going to be OK” after the blowout election loss.
