Itβs time to keep up with Kimora Lee Simmons.
Fourteen years after the entrepreneur, 50, left our screens, Simmons is now gearing up to debut her new reality show, βKimora: Back in the Fab Lane.β
The E! series will share a glimpse into the Baby Phat founderβs life with her five kids: Ming, 25,Β Aoki, 23,Β Kenzo, 16,Β Gary, 16, andΒ Wolfe, 10, and βbonus sonβΒ Jayden, 19.
Along with being a mother and running multi-million dollar businesses, Simmons is also rubbing elbows with royalty.
While at Kris Jennerβs star-studded 70th birthday bash last month, the media mogul bumped into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
βI did see them,β Simmons exclusively told The Post. βI saw them. We spoke. We talked. I see them though from time to time.β
βVery nice,β she added of the couple.
As for the Duke and Duchess of Sussexβs status in Hollywood, the model stated: βTheyβre a little bit in and a little bit out.β
βTheyβre more far away from Hollywood,β quipped Simmons. βMontecito.β
Jennerβs birthday bash made headlines after Markle, 44, forced her and Kim Kardashian to take down photosΒ of herself and Prince Harry at the party. Kardashian, 45, was reportedly βpissedβ by the request.
βItβs so tacky,β a palace insider explained to Page Six at the time. βIt truly shows that Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family. These people may be stars in America, but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with his life and the monarchy.β
Simmons coyly added to The Post: βSeems like some people got in trouble β maybe it was too fabulous. I donβt really know.β
While the runway star avoided the birthday drama, she has turned to her fellow momager, Jenner, for some sound advice over the years.
βOh my gosh, Iβve learned so much from so many people,β Simmons gushed. βAnd I will just say, she has always been so kind to me and to my daughters and to my family. Just her sense of strength and resilience. We talk a lot about the kids and beauty and the business. And sheβs always just so, so wonderful.β
As for the best pearl of wisdom sheβs received from Jenner, the fashion icon shared: βI think to stay with it, stick in there, persevere. I feel like definitely a lot of the things Iβve learned about being like a part time [momager]. I always say Iβm an unofficial momager. For sure, I would have learned that from people like her. Sheβs wonderful to me.β
Viewers will get to see Simmons put her βunofficial momagerβ skills to the test on βBack in the Fab Lane.β
And there was no hesitation from her brood to share their lives with the world.
βSo my kids have always been in front of the camera in some way, shape or form or fashion,β Simmons explained. βI think theyβre used to it. I want them to keep a level head. I want them to have fun. I want them to to not take themselves so seriously. I donβt think itβs too much pressure. And like I said, theyβve been there. All but two of my kids β I have five β two of them have not done this before.β
βBut Ming, Aoki, Kenzo were born here like on this couch,β she teased. βNot exactly, but close! Theyβre okay. And I think they have a good handle of being a little bit in the business and also being able to have your business. Theyβre okay with that, and Iβm okay with that.β
Simmons herself promised that βeverything was openβ during filming.
βThereβs certain things I donβt like to get into,β she clarified. βIf Iβm not happy about a situation, I wonβt call that person or situation by name. That is just my normal life, though, and theyβre just picking up my normal life. If I think youβre on buzzard, Iβm going to say that. You know who you are!β
βi call everything out,β Simmons added.β Iβm just not necessarily going to say your name.β
The businesswoman was married to Russell Simmons from 1998 to 2009 and Tim Leissner from 2014 to 2022.
Now, Simmons wants to clears up any doubts that she isnβt self-made.
βI read stuff all the time,β the reality star vet expressed. βOne misconception I think is out there is that to get where Iβve gotten, Iβve had to take that from someone or do certain things to get where Iβve gotten as opposed to having been working since I was 10 or that a woman can be an entrepreneur on her own.β
βOr that a woman has to get it from her husband or her ex-husband, whether thatβs credibility or funds,β Simmons noted.
And when it comes to her career, as Simmons puts it: βIβm always growing.β
βAlways,β she reiterated. βAlways expanding. Weβve entered into different territories all over the world: Asia, Europe. Iβve expanded into food and beverage, skincare, health, beauty, obviously fashion. I donβt know what the next big thing is. Iβm always just one step in front of the other.β
