The Princess of Wales is turning heads.
Kate Middleton, 43, dressed in a stunning full-length golden gown as she joined her husband, Prince William, for a state banquet welcoming Donald and Melania Trump to Windsor Castle on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Besides the dazzling gown, Middleton donned a gold lace evening coat, a blue sash, and, most notably, the Lover’s Knot tiara owned and worn by the late Princess Diana before her tragic passing in 1997.
As for the Prince of Wales, he sported the Windsor Uniform for the lavish gala dinner, which is made up of a dark navy blazer with red collar, a white shirt, black trousers and blue sash.
Both the heir apparent and his wife of 14 years were on hand to greet President Trump, 79, and first lady Melania Trump, 55, on the grounds of Windsor Castle earlier in the day.
Wearing a maroon dress with a matching hat and purse, Middleton smiled as she shook hands with the president alongside Prince William, who was dressed in a dark suit.
“You’re beautiful, so beautiful,” Trump told the Princess of Wales during the friendly exchange.
However, the highly anticipated state visit wasn’t without its hiccups, and Queen Camilla appeared to shoo Middleton away from the first lady during one awkward moment outside Victoria House.
A video of the incident showed Camilla and Melania, hiding her eyes behind a wide-brim purple hat, chatting as President Trump, King Charles and Prince William talked amongst themselves a few feet away.
Shortly after the Princess of Wales made her way over to join Camilla and Melania’s conversation, the Queen appeared to motion Middleton away with a subtle sweep of her hand.
Another incident unfolded earlier in the visit when Trump was accused of breaking royal protocol after failing to curtsy upon first greeting the King and Queen.
However, the royal family’s official website revealed that the president was not “obligated” to curtsy to Charles, 76, and Camilla, 78.
“There are no obligatory codes of behaviour when meeting a member of the Royal Family, but many people wish to observe the traditional forms,” it explained.
“For men this is a neck bow (from the head only) whilst women do a small curtsy. Other people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way,” the website added.
The royal family and the Trumps later made their way back to Windsor Castle via horse-drawn carriage for the state banquet, where Middleton changed into her lovely golden gown and tiara.
President Trump, who was seated between Middleton and King Charles for the night’s event, once again gushed about the “so radiant, so healthy and so beautiful” princess during his speech.
The Princess of Wales, who announced she was diagnosed with cancer in March 2024, revealed earlier this year that she was in remission. More recently, Middleton spoke publicly about her “roller coaster” cancer journey in July.
Prince William, meanwhile, sat on the other side of the banquet table with Queen Camilla and Melania.
