Justin Baldoni claims Blake Lively tried to prohibit him from attending the premiere of his film “It Ends With Us.”
According to the bombshell lawsuit Baldoni filed on Tuesday, Lively allegedly “systematically sidelined [him] from the marketing of his own Film” and didn’t stop there.
“Further undermining Baldoni’s role, Lively initially refused to permit his attendance at the Film’s premiere,” his legal filing obtained by The Post read. “Only after significant pressure did she reluctantly agree to allow Baldoni and the Wayfarer team to attend, but under humiliating conditions.”
Baldoni went on to claim that he was “segregated” from his co-stars.
“The Wayfarer team and their families, including Baldoni and [producer Jamey] Heath, were segregated from the main cast, barred from the exclusive after-party, and forced to organize their own event at additional cost,” the lawsuit alleged.
In his legal filing, the “It Ends With Us” director also claimed that Lively allegedly tried to ostracize him and his family at the premiere.
“Baldoni’s participation on the red carpet was cut short, and his family and friends were confined to a makeshift holding area in the basement before being escorted into a separate theater after Lively’s departure,” the suit read. “Not only had Lively stolen the Film, but she also robbed Baldoni and his team of any genuine opportunity to celebrate their hard work.”
Her attorneys previously told The Post of the lawsuit, “Nothing in this lawsuit changes anything about the claims advanced in Ms. Lively’s California Civil Rights Department Complaint, nor her federal complaint, filed earlier today,” the statement read. “This lawsuit is based on the obviously false premise that Ms. Lively’s administrative complaint against Wayfarer and others was a ruse based on a choice ‘not to file a lawsuit against Baldoni, Wayfarer,’ and that ‘litigation was never her ultimate goal.’ As demonstrated by the federal complaint filed by Ms. Lively earlier today, that frame of reference for the Wayfarer lawsuit is false. While we will not litigate this matter in the press, we do encourage people to read Ms. Lively’s complaint in its entirety. We look forward to addressing each and every one of Wayfarer’s allegations in court.”
Baldoni — who directed and starred alongside Lively in the film — was never photographed with Blake and they did not market the flick together despite being the stars of “It Ends With Us.”
They also watched the film in different movie theaters at the New York premiere on Aug. 6. Lively took her guests into one theater and Baldoni, his family and friends watched in another.
On Tuesday, Baldoni, 40, also accused Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, of using bullying tactics in an effort to “exile” him from the movie and allegedly tried to use his star power to get him dropped from his agency, according to the lawsuit.
He claimed in court docs that Reynolds, 48, “berated” him during a heated meeting at the couple’s Tribeca penthouse in New York, in which he accused the director of “fat shaming” his wife.
“Baldoni and [Wayfarer Studios] grew increasingly fearful of what Lively and Reynolds were capable of, as their actions seemed aimed at destroying Baldoni’s career and personal life,” the suit stated.
Lively also filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in a New York federal court, accusing him of causing her “severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration and mental anguish,” in addition to lost wages.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, previously denied the similar allegations Lively made in a separately filed California lawsuit.
