Tylor Chase confirmed heβs taking a variety of drugs while living on the streets of Riverside, California.
The former βNedβs Declassified School Survival Guideβ star, 36, spoke to the Daily Mail Monday and gave an update on his living situation β clarifying that he doesnβt consider himself homeless.
Per the outlet, Chase was found digging around in the dirt behind a 7-Eleven on a busy street near Riverside. He was reportedly in disheveled clothes, including aΒ torn jacket, and his hands were cut and blistered, with dirt under his fingernails.
When the reporter offered Chase food, he asked for marijuana instead.
βI could use maybe a joint or a bong. Do you guys smoke weed?β he responded.
The Nickelodeon alum also told the outlet he βlikes to vapeβ and takes βProzac, Adderall, Sudafed, Wellbutrin or also Zoloft.β He claimed he got all the drugs from a psychiatrist, but denied that heβs been diagnosed with any mental health conditions.
During the interview, Chase stated that his family, friends and strangers have been helping him while heβs living on the streets.
βI stay around here locally. My mom is here,β he said. βI have a lot of good people helping me. Itβs not too shabby. A lot of people help out. It goes a long way.β
Chase continued, βI have family and friends, and the housing shelter assistance program. Thereβs graceful charity from the grace of Godβs family people. Thatβs a pretty chill aspect of it all. Itβs a true privilege, obviously.β
He also told the Daily Mail heβs considering going to visit his dad in Georgia.
βIβm not really active homeless at this time, Iβm thinking that I would like to go see my dad, relatively shortly, in the state of Georgia,β he said. βI have the whole setup to stay out there, a room out there hopefully β¦ Probably a housing assistance program in Georgia most likely.β
According to the Daily Mail, Riverside County court records show that Chase has had at least 12 criminal cases against him since August 2023, including eight this year.
His two most recent arrests were for alleged shoplifting and being under the influence of a controlled substance, the outlet reported.
However, Riverside Police Department representative Ryan Railsback has told TMZ that Chase is not wanted for any crimes.
Railsback also said that officers are familiar with Chase and interact with him at least once a week.
The day after Chaseβs interview with the Daily Mail, his former βNedβs Declassifiedβ co-star Daniel Curtis Lee found him in Riverside, brought himΒ out to eat at a nearby pizza place, and then checked him into a hotel.
βHe trusted an old friend,β Lee said in the Instagram clip of the pair reuniting. βHe wanted to stay local and this was the only one that was open.β
Chase played Martin Qwerly on βNedβs Declassified School Survival Guideβ from 2004 to 2007.
In September, he was seen living on the streets of RiversideΒ in a heartbreaking clipΒ that went viral earlier this week, sparking widespread concern.
A GoFundMe was launched in the fall to help Chase, with the page reportedly raising over $1,200 before it was shut down by Chaseβs mother, who insisted her son βneeds medical attention, not money.β
